These vintage plaid pants

I've been looking for a pair of plaid wool pants that look more retro than dated... Here's a vintage pair I found. The seller has given me more exact measurements on these pants (the model is my height and size), and II ove the wide leg and more subtle/modern looking color scheme. What do you think (they are reserved!)?

I'm not crazy about them, alaskagirl - but it's just a personal preference. I do like plaid, but a busy pattern on my bottom half makes me look super short! They look like a fun pair of pants, though, and if you like the wide-leg and the plaid scale, go for it - but I think you'd have to be really careful about toning down the rest of your outfit - top, coat, shoes, so the look doesn't scream "Loud and Proud"!

I love them. I love the color scheme, and I have a strange attraction to plaid pants, considering they don't play well with my pear tendencies. So you should get them so I can live vicariously!

I love the plaid but not the super wide legs. Maybe the legs are your style, though. You could probably have the leg width altered if the price is right (unless you love the wide legs, of course!). I do think it's a really fantastic, slightly muted plaid.

I am on the fence. I think this is a really adorable garment. I love the color, I love the pattern, I love the silhouette. That said, integrating it into your wardrobe, creating outfits that don't look like a costume could be totally different ballgame. It is a lot of pants on a small frame.

Una, I agree totally with Bella. They're cute, but I fear that they may shorten your petite frame because of the wide legs.

I love the color but I could personally not put that big plaid and that wide leg on my bottom half. Yours is much smaller of course, but without seeing them on you I am not committing. I am not loving them on the model as even with the slim tank (and would you wear a slim tank with wool pants in Alaska???) the proportions are not so flattering.

You are so much braver than I am. I would never, ever go near a plaid this big on my butt and thighs. To me, this pattern is screaming to be a skirt - I don't know why, but bigger plaids on skirts strike me as witty, but these pants are too smart for their own good.

But, like I always say, if they are plonking at your heartstrings, who cares what other people say?
