Those are cute! I could handle the inseam (with heels) but not the super high waist. Viva has some 'let down hem' type jeans, although I believe hers are cropped.

I'd be tempted to pair with a simple boxy cropped top in a neutral color and the appropriate heels and bag and let the jeans be the focal point -- they are pretty amazing! 70's glam seems a natural pairing too with a silky tucked blouse. Curious to read other ideas.

Ah, stove pipes with let-down hems (usually trailing stringy threads,) I remember them well! This was the ubiquitous campus look when I was in college. I wore them with flower-sprinkled Villager blouses, little white Fruit of the Loom t-shirts in child size, scooped-neck ribbed "poor boy" sweaters, chunky cropped cable knit woolen turtlenecks, or hand-me-down cashmeres from my mother. But that was then. I like Rabbit's suggestions for now.

Aha! This thread is taking me back!

I tried on these Bed Stu shoes http://www.bedstu.com/juliana which reminded me of the 70s buffalo sandals. But they were seriously not enough comfortable for this time around. (The wedge soles are wood and they don't have quite enough leather on the sole for padding.)

I'm glad Angie has her fashion era challenge going presently. The 70s results will be good inspiration, it sounds like.

I'd wear them with a striped slightly boxy tee, maybe swedish sandals, maybe peeptoe boots, maybe even chunky mules.

Retailgirl, my college friends and I favored cheap, old-fashioned crisscross-strapped black or red canvas wedge sandals from Woolworth's! They were super comfortable and, at $3.99 /pair, practically disposable. I walked happily in them all over Europe. Later, I switched to black Converse high-tops.

I kinda like these pants and I say hooray to a long inseam, which has been really hard to find in recent years! If I were built differently (longer in the torso and less bottom-heavy), I'd wear these.
