These oxfords...

I've had a pair of black oxfords on my list for a while. Stumbled across these:

They push all my buttons - androgynous, studded, black, funky. But is there just too much going on? It will they be helpful in elevating my otherwise frumpy feeling outfits?

I've never seen you wear a frumpy outfit. I will post more pictures so you have a real point of reference!

They're very cool, but there is a lot going on in them -- pattern, studs, metal plate. I kinda wish they'd stuck with one or two of those details rather than all three. My taste seems to be shifting towards fewer design details per piece, so this is just MHO.

una, i think you need to spend some time unpacking this "frump" perception. i don't think it's going to be solved by a specific piece of clothing.

In all seriousness, the pair you present here come off, to me, as a bit twee. They're okay, but I'd keep an eye out for something better.

I think you need to correct your self perception of frump. These are truthfully not my favorite oxfords and I generally like Jeffrey Campbell.
