Oh, wow... the brandy color! Narrow calf, check. Mid heel, check. Looks fab both ways, check. I could easily see selling off some Fryes to make room for those beauts.

But holy Mike, 18.5" shaft?? That is really tall.

And yet I still want to try them on! o_0

ETA: uh-oh, the Ugg website says the shaft is 16.5" tall. O_O

Rae, I wonder if Zappos measures from the heel up? That would account for a two inch difference? I am agonizing over whether to sell my old OTK boots and get these (which would not be OTK but close)...

What a great idea! Like two boots in one. Una, even at 16.5 inches, wouldn't the shaft be too high for you? I have to go with 15.5 " tops but maybe my lower leg is short.

I think even the 16.5 measurement is including how they go up on the sides. I think the front of the leg would be a more reasonable height. Or maybe I sees what I wants to sees!

Amazingly there was only one left in my size, so I ordered it. Eep.

If these work, they'll end up supplanting my Frye lace ups (too flat to wear all day at work), a Yoox tall pair that don't go with much, my worn-through luggage brown Reports, and my brown Timberland ankle boots (which are fine but would be kind of obsolete. I can almost pay for them by selling... almost, but not quite - but it will save lots of space. *rationalizing*
