Can they? I know some comfort brands have upturned toes, but this is redonkulous.

I can't believe anyone can walk with the toes up like that. Also, the price is ridiculous.

I don't think they're meant to be worn on the foot that way. Older cowboy boots curl up like that, but fit to the foot once on. So Golden Goose is copying that look.

Golden Goose is all artisan made or something and so the $$$.

They are most likely made of premium materials by an artisan, so that would explain the price. There are these premium cashemere jackets by Fluerette . . . but I digress!

I am hoping it is as IK said that these conform to your foot once you have them on. Otherwise, I can't imagine you could walk in them . . . my feet don;t bend that way!

Artisan made or not, I've never understood the purpose of carefully constructing something and then half wrecking it before putting it up for sale. Frye has been doing this a lot lately, too - not with the bent sole, but weathered enough that they look like they've been dragged through the mud plenty of times. Regardless, I don't find these boots attractive.

Incidentally some brogues I purchased from Nordstrom last year (Jeffrey Campbell) had the mildest upturn and that turned out to kill my feet. Within walking about two blocks. So I'm not sure about the conforming once you put them on part. Your mileage may vary but I would steer clear.
