I had my 7/12 order sitting in Ready to Be Shipped status forever.

I received an e-mail earlier today telling me it had been delivered! When I got home, I checked, and sure enough, there is was!

I went back and checked the Nordies site, and sure enough, it now showed shipped!

*shakes head*

I think they are struggling with the demand this year.

I would guess they are. That is actually good news for Nordstrom though and I don't mind waiting.

Everything I ordered has shipped except for two items I ordered 7/17, and one of the items is a lingerie bag!

Meanwhile, the EF color block sweater I ordered in store — the only thing I ordered in store, way back on 7/12 — still doesn’t show a ship date on the tracking page, even though I got an email on 7/14 saying it shipped.

I was really excited about that sweater, so I hope they didn’t mess this up...

Janet, that sweater seems to be restocked again on line. Not in your size, but why don’t you stalk it and reorder it if your size shows up? I think having to return one is better than not getting it at all, if you are that excited about it.

Thistle - I was actually just about to write on your last thread and ask!! Congrads! I hope it was worth the wait. I was able to order everything (although I did super stalk on the RM Merilee blazer). Everything is marked ship, but no shipping info on the Caslon hooded moto or the RM blazer. But as least they should be boxed and in the works. It's the worst when after wanting, ordering, confirming, we still worry it wont make it to us. And that does contribute to the FOMA atmosphere of NAS, which is not a good thing for me. Trying to ramp it down from defcon 1!!

I also have orders from 7/16 that haven’t shipped but i’ve received other orders from the 19th. So far, for my orders Nordstrom’s has used USPS, UPS, FedEx and drop shipped a pair of shoes from the manufacturer. They’re really trying!

Glad to hear people are getting good news. My orders from 7/12 that were in "getting ready" status for a week have also shipped. Now, I'm stalking two items that I liked from Angie's post yesterday, but which are sold out in my size. Her mention of items running out of stock faster than ever this year definitely seems to be holding true.

Still, I’m a little concerned when it’s been nine days and still no tracking number. I ordered the sweater in the orange colorway too, just in case. Even though orange is not my most flattering color, I do like it enough that I would enjoy wearing it.

Janet, have you called customer service?

Nordies battles with NAS traffic almost every year. Unlike Amazon - they only need the infrastructure/support for four weeks....it's tricky.

I had an order cancelled today, on two items. One is still in stock in the color and size I ordered, and the other isn't. So frustrating.

I did online chat with them two days ago and they said it was being prepared for shipping — which is a little odd since I got a notice from them on 7/14 saying it shipped. But tracking gives me this. Seems contradictory.

I am wondering if the change to more online orders, and less in store shopping, is causing them grief.

It's a huge change in retail, and it can't be easy for them to make the change. Easier for Amazon as they are riding the online wave.

At least their customer service has been friendly through all of it!

i know in the past they have used a lot of vendor/brand owned inventory that ship out of the vendors warehouse and thus gives them a lot less control on shipping etc, but is better financially for nordies...i'm also guessing that as they added extended sizes on both ends of the scale, they may have miss judged the demand and so if you ordered one of those sizes you have more issues (please dont blame them, as they didn't carry these sizes before therefore they wouldn't have good history to use to judge the demand...)

I’m sure managing the inventory is a challenge. Most of my orders seem to be slated for delivery 10-12 days after I order. Even if I’m quick about returns, and return in-store, that’s still two weeks, before someone else can buy the item. Tricky for a sale that is 2.5-3.5 weeks long.

Just got shipping notifications on two of my first orders (7/12 and 7/14), one including an item long-since cancelled. Knock me over with a feather!

I've had cancellations on orders since then for pop backs, but I've had just as many pop back orders go through. It's like a game.

On Tuesday I had a package show delivered Wednesday-a day that hadn’t happened yet. It arrived on Thursday as originally indicated. My latest order is still getting ready,

Nordstrom did a lot to gear up for the sale for the expected increase in volume so as to not have problems. The increase in online utilization was way beyond their expectation. They were surprised by the number of people who signed up for a card the first day of regular early access. They attributed part of it to bloggers writing about NAS. I know I’d never heard about NAS until I found YLF.

I hope you all receive all your orders soon. And I hope my latest ships soon also.

According to my email the things I ordered last Sunday were shipped this morning. A full week delay, not the worst ever, but pretty bad. At least everything was still available apparently.

Am I the only one cynical enough to think that it’s awfully convenient that once items are shipped, received, and then returned, we won’t get a chance to buy at sale price since the sale will be over?
