Theory trousers - has anyone tried on/see these pairs? - ETA size ?

I am in dire need of work trousers and have never tried Theory so I thought I'd take advantage of the half yearly sale to try a few. I am thinking of ordering the Emery Tailor Trousers and the Straight Leg Wool Ankle Pant. Has anyone seen these IRL and if so, what did you think?

ETA: Sizing - I usually wear a 6P, occasionally a 4P. I think I vary between a 4 and 6 in regular sizes too, although I haven't purchased in regular in awhile which is why my trousers are all too short! I'm going to order 2 sizes of each - should I go 4/6 or 6/8?

i own the straight leg wool ankle pants, and i own a pair of the wide leg trousers, but i'm not sure if they are the emery or not. i like them a lot. i think they very well made, the fabric is great, and they have a very nice drape.
i will say that they are true to size, but that i wear a size larger in theory than i do in BR or Jcrew.
one of the things that i like the most about these pants are that they are truely 3 season.

I think Emery Tailor is one of their ongoing styles and the fabric (tailor) will match their blazers if you want to make it into a suit. I tried them on at some point and liked them, but I'm not sure it's the style I'd choose for myself right now (I'm trying to get higher rise pants to see if it makes my legs look longer).

Theory sizing is always tricky for me. I usually go up a size and I think others do too.

I haven't seen those straight leg pants but I love them in the photo - very sleek!

I own an older pair of the wide leg Emery trousers. I like them a lot. They are mostly wool with a bit of stretch. Not lined. They drape nicely. I wear them in my normal size.

However, I tried a pair on in the new urban stretch fabric and they were a disaster. My regular size didn't fit and the size up was a mess, too. These were slightly better than the other styles I tried on...but still not great in the new fabric.

This pair you are looking at are not the newest version. These ones should be better than the newest.

I don't know about the other pants. But I do know that the various styles of pants I've tried on by Theory have all fit very differently. Luckily, you get free returns!

I bought them in black a few years ago and they are magical - well theoretically they were a b-day gift. I wear them a lot. My go to dressy trousers. They are never going to date. The swoosh and drape is elegant.

Size up a size.

Oh my goodness yes. I have the A+O Eric pants (wider leg than the Olivia that Angie posted - the Olivia is more versatile I would say) and they are also magical. Their pants fit magically in the butt. In fact, thanks to this post, now I know what I'm wearing today for my first day at the new job! Thanks, Angie!

At least give them a bash, AM. They will be very long on petite you so don't be shocked by that. They are quite flared - see side view - but not overwhelming on my slight frame. And therein lies the secret. Even at regular height - 5ft 6 - I am often overwhelmed by wide trousers. The fit and fabric of these cannot not be beat.

Angie, do you have any suggestions for similar trousers for someone truly short (5'1")? I fear that I will have to hem all the wide-leg goodness out of any pants like these...

jumping back in to say i own the A&O pants in white cotton, i had to have then shorten, but they still flowed beautifully. and the wide waist band is just magic. (if you know what i mean)

What's your inseam, alaskagirl? I think the hard part with flares is the knee break - it's always too low on me. My inseam is a 28 - I'm a few inches taller than you but I wouldn't be surprised if our legs are the same length. Aside from the knee break issue, they're plenty wide even after lopping off 6".

According to greyscale they are magic in the butt and kkards they are magic in the waist. How fast can I get them!!

That's right, GS - the break is always off with jeans. Maybe more fluid pants are more forgiving!

My Theory Max C pants are hemmed to a 29.5" inseam for 2" heels. Not sure what that means, but Suz is always wondering why I can wear tall boots - maybe my legs are long for my height? Sure doesn't feel that way!

And sorry to hijack, AM - I meant to add that you need to try on Theory - the Max C cut fits me perfectly, but others have not.
