I'm laughing because I have yet to take the tags off my new white twill EF pants (sort of like light jeans). They fit fine but were expensive and I'm not sure how much I will wear them. My main complaint is not how they look, but the dirt attraction issue. I live in an often dusty area with a pretty active lifestyle. Can I wear them enough without being stained mess?

Consider me one that is terrified by white jeans.
I see Angie's outfits with white jeans and so want to wear them but when I try I feel that there is the only thing I see, two big curvy legs.
I really enjoy your though process . Personally I am thinking of trying my cropped white jeans with a shirt dress as Angie wore last year.

I have happily worn my white jeans all winter long. Funny, though, that I wore white capri pants on our cruise last week and spilled food on them. The stain thankfully came out, but I was upset because I rarely spill food like that.

Hi Manny! (waves hello)

I haven't had time to see the pics and read all of the replies, but it's funny, when you broke it all down I was shaking my head along, I guess I do all of these things naturally when wearing white bottoms - wear a tunic (many times black or high contrast), wear nude to me shoes, etc.

I'll go back and read all the replies but wanted to say hello!! XOXO

Great ideas! Nice visuals, too. This is helpful--thanks, Maneera.

I missed this when it was originally posted. Great tips Maneera:)

Lawdy, as a 5'4" size 14/16 on bottom, I can imagine what people might think when I wear white jeans ... based on how you all perceive it on yourselves when you are taller and/or thinner than I am.
But it won't stop me from wearing them.

Very clever and thoughtful post, Maneera! Many thanks to you and smart Suz. I'm one who finds white jeans too chilly-looking on my pale Winter self, so that moment of wearing them for the first time, like the first swimsuit outing, is a bit traumatic. I like all your suggestions, and will add that wearing a top that I really love (great color, happy associations, etc.) helps me, as does a loose, light oversized jacket or cardigan, worn open.

Years ago, when I did costumes for a small repertory theater, our lead actress in Star Spangled Girl went through boyfriend trouble and a sudden weight gain. I had to change her costume mid-season to maintain the illusion that she was an Olympic swimmer. A Speedo tank (red, white & blue stars of course) under white jeans and a loose, open white boating jacket worked--just!

Thanks Maneera

Im ome of those who shy away from whit. You uave goven me some ideas for.the summer. Thank you also dor the visual it helps me greatly.

Enjoying this thread which, as a newer YLF-er, I'd not seen before. Funny thing is, I'm so conservative about clothing but I put on white jeans for the first time and wore them out of the house without even thinking twice about it! Now I'm going to have to look more critically at all those things about which I was blithely unaware.

I am not a natural white jeans wearer but due to Angie influence I am a dabbler. The visuals on this thread are amazing, and on the topic of signature style it was fun and helpful to see Angie's style evolve while her signature white jeans remain steady.

I've really only just got into the white jeans but I really think it is great. I am so pleased that I pushed myself to take them on board. I'm so pleased I did and I think that the analysis that you have done will really help. I've enjoyed looking at your very carefully curated photos and also Angie's.

I'm trying to get my courage up to buy white jeans, so I am so glad this out has been revived - I missed it the first go around. I suffer from all the phobias listed here. And I live in a very dirty area - the Sierra Nevada mountains are dusty dry in the summer/fall and muddy in the spring. So If I even get within 1 foot of my car in the garage the dirt streaks jump on me.

But I have my eyes out for some for this spring/summer......

Very helpful post Maneera. I tried white jeans once but couldn't get the look right and then spilled something on them that I couldn't get out. I would like to try them again if I could get the look right. Your collage of white jean pics has helped me see that I like them when they are styled with something edgier like in pics 6, 9 & 15. I don't look great in hight contrast though so I'd have to figure out how to do edgy w/o using black. Lots to think about....
