Theory Lanai - exchange for a size up or return?

I decided to try the famous Lanai jacket while it is on sale at Nordstrom.

Here it is in size 8 (1-2, sorry for the blurry mirror shot but that is the only way to show the fit issue). There is a wrinkling around the bust, and I wonder if this means I need to size up. I am also trying to decide whether the jacket looks better/different than the navy Zara blazer I own (3-4, similar fit issue but I still wear it). I would like to wear this for lectures/presentations etc.; I like the modern vibe of this jacket. What are your thoughts?

How are the arms? My test for jackets is whether I can cross my arms comfortably without pulling.

No problem with the arms, and the shoulders fit just right. I just don't like the wrinkles near the armholes.

From what I can see, I don't think you can size up, the shoulders would be too wide. I do think it is better and different than your other jacket. The size is just hard to judge in these pictures.

Makrame -- this is the fit problem I also have with Lanai and many others have as well...it is even on the picture on the model. You can check my thread here for some discussion about it. Basically -- in my case, at least, I don't have the real estate to "fill out" the jacket in that area.

I haven't yet decided whether I'm keeping mine -- stay tuned for yet another thread.

Mr. Suz thinks it looks ill fitting. I think so too when I am wearing some tops, but not others -- it depends what I have on underneath.

I do think I prefer the Lanai to your Zara, but it is awfully hard to tell from the pics.

Hi Suz, yes I remember your thread with the same fit issue. Hard to know what to do - it is a nice blazer but it would be nice if the fit was perfect.
