Sometimes, when I'm playing with a wardrobe item, I'll just match it with several untried items before I get dressed for the day, or as I undress for the evening. This skirt is actually convertible to a bandeau dress. I should have sized down, so, unfortunately, the extra fabric sort of shows around my middle. When I go visit my folks this weekend, I'll take advantage of my mom's cool little sewing room to cut off the top (I won't wear a strapless dress, anyway) and replace it with a wide black elastic band or a regular casing waistband.

I usually wear this with a more fitted black tee or a jewel toned tee topped with my denim jacket. I wanted to style it for a hot day MOTG. Yep. Those are my Crocs. They are amazing -- like wearing slippers.

1. Wrap front georgette top with a small collar: This top is lightweight and fluid, but the volume on top of long volume I feel is not working well. Not quite flattering enough?

2. Heathered grey knit top with banded bottom: I loved this with slim pants or a pencil, layered under a cardi or jacket. It has a draped neckline that might not be the best on me. Actually, grey isn't the best, but dark grey works better than lighter tones. Still too much volume without enough structure?

3. Target Merona bateau neck tee. AH! I feel like Ornella -- long and vaguely Continental! Perhaps this is just visual confirmation that I don't do well with true boho looks. When I rework the waistband of the skirt, it will lay in a more flattering way on the midsection. I wore this to teach from home and to run errands.

4. My "Ravinia Festival" outfit from last summer. I like the jacket topper! You can see that I folded down the top. I'm not wild on the horizonal stripes cross my belly!
