The Z&V shirt was the first of my ordered items to arrive. I tried it on Friday at lunch and initially thought it fit. With a second look however, the neckline was too deep. The shoulders a bit too wide and there was more bulk under the arms and around the torso than I preferred. I immediately ordered the size small. It was miraculously still available and even more amazing it arrived today, 25 hours later. The small seems like a much better fit although maybe the sleeves are a tiny bit short. The bottom of the V neckline sits a full inch above the center of my bra. In the medium it sat right on the center of my bra. There is much less bulk while still having a nicely oversized silhouette and I love the pattern and color.

When I looked at the size chart for this top, my original guess for size was based on my chest circumference which is just shy of 36 inches. I was less worried about the hip measurements because of the style of the garment which has much volume and more at the bottom because of the gathered neckline and placket in back.

If you look at the size chart for Z&V on the Nordstrom website it seems misleading. According to their guide, I should take a size Large, 40 Fr...bust measurement 35-36, waist 28-29 and hip 38-39. My usually size in French garments has been either a 36 or 38. I decided to order the Medium (38) which is recommended for bust (33-34), waist (26-28), hip (36-37) .

All this to say, I think this garment runs quite large. The small, modeled here is supposedly for bust (31-33), waist (25-26) and hip (35-36).

Which size do you think is better...sorry the photos are not identical. The size small is the one where my hair is pulled back in front.
