The yin and the yang of my Talbot's shirt dres

Hello everyone! When I posted The Dress Diaries, there was a Talbot's shirt dress that I received alot of suggestions from YLF on how to wear it. I gave it a try, and not sure if I hit the mark or not.....I'm curious to see what you think:

The brown belt and shoes combo is really classy and understated...and I'd love to see it with long white pearls instead of a scarf...have fun!

My favorite two combinations are the surrender the waist look with the scarf and silver shoes and the red belt, red shoes, and turquoise cardi combination. What a versatile dress!

I love the scarf outfit... very chic. I really like that your bag, shoes and scarf were'nt matchy-matchy.
I like the brown belt and shoes as well as the red accessories. I don't much care for the silver belt and shoes look. I like the turquoise cardi... but I think I'd like to see it unbuttoned.

I like the brown belt and shoes and the red belt/turquoise cardi outfits best. It looks like you are having fun with this dress.
A suggestion...keep an eye out for studded belts or something with serious hardware to try. I've come to love the instant attitude they give a simple outfit and I don't even have a waist to feature.
I found a 3" wide matte black leather belt with a big round heavy brass 2-prong buckle (Lucky brand) at a consignment store yesterday. It's topping a black cotton knit top with ruffles worn out over a white denim skirt today worn with brass snake textured leather ballet flats and brass/white mother of pearl inlay bangles from Ten Thousand villages. The belt makes the outfit and has gotten many compliments already (by 9am!)

If you don't mind my saying so, I think this dress really needs to be taken in at the waist. I think "surrendering the waist" works better with floaty material. But I don't know anything. You look nice in all these outfits, but I just think if the waist were taken in, you would have it going on.

Of all the looks pictured, I think the belted styling looks best and I like the previous suggestion of finding a belt with some edge to it. Not a fan of the cardigan with the dress ... and the scarf ensemble reminds me of a flight attendant.
