I keep thrifting skirts. I would never have dreamed of dressing like this before but I’m enjoying the flouncy skirt. One of my colleagues said, “you are looking so fancy these days.”
Two WIW both pic 1 and 2 are my 2 trelise cooper skirts with different Jacqui-e jackets which I bought last year.
Pic one with a thrifted tshirt, stocking and doc martens
Pic 2 with sweater and my ankle boots
Pic 3 and 4 a new skirt I found. It’s quite heavy… does it go with the jacket. Suggestions for winter

Só long as you've got the right underpinnings & shoes for it, skirt dressing becomes a breeze, doesn't it? I like your phone sling bag in #1 too - a handy size!

I like the jacket in the last few picks, but you might need to add something elsewhere to help 'ground' its heaviness - perhaps a black belt or bag?

I love skirts on you and like how you have styled them, they look more dressed up than jeans or pants, but not fussy or over the top. The new skirt is a great pattern and goes with the jacket. It is a wonderful addition and brightens things up for winter. I would like to see it with your denim jacket too.

Beware, lol. Once you have experienced the comfort, freedom of movement & err...non-constricting-ness of skirts, going back to pants can be hard. W/ the exception of exercise, I go years w/out wearing pants.
I love both your skirts & they look great on!

Nice! I particularly like the third one. You wear them well, and I like them toughened up with boots and jackets.

This is an awful year for skirts and dresses at retail here in the states. I've been looking to update my summer pieces and finding very little that appeals. Everything is ditsy prints, flounces and ruffles and tiers. Puffed sleeves and spaghetti straps. I think your thrifting strategy is wise!

Looks good for sure. I also enjoy the comfort of a skirt but do feel the nuance of "dressed up" but am trying to get used to it as the look is so comfortable. Love how it looks on you.
Great cross body bag, can you tell us more about it?

Very nice! I love your new printed skirt - looks great with jacket in the pic! Certain sweatshirts could work with new skirt - solid or with some limited graphic design ( you'll need to balance sportiness with some jewelry or other accessories ).

You rock the "swagger" skirt, Sally :-). It could be fun to pull some of the colours from the last skirt in -- for some reason I think you have an olive green jacket? In any case, it's liberating to play around with new styles, colours and moods, so do keep having fun with it!!

PS -- I agree a jean jacket would also look great with it. Cream jumper, denim jacket. floral skirt, combat boots....

Nice skirts. They suit you, particularly that floral print. Coveting your mobile sling. I love the proportions in #3.

As for the outfit combinations, I miss a certain statement of intent, but not sure where to put it. Contrasting leg wear? Bolder graphics up top? Do you have any bomber or moto jackets? Classic denim could work well. I like slim cat’s suggestion of sweatshirts.

@zaeobi I see what you mean about grounding it. I don't have big belts or big bags but will experiment.
@bijou Yes I was thinking a denim jacket and i guess that would make the skirt more multiseasonal as i could wear it in spring later with white sandshoes

Yes Ophelia I find myself wearing skirts more often so comfortable especially when they have an elastic waist
Xtabay - I have a few styles I look out for..pleated mid length etc. I should stop looking as I have enough
@Janet - I find it is hit and miss with thrifting. A lot of my skirts are second hand online too so you have to guess the size correctly.
indigo print - I know what you mean about getting dressed up and it takes a bit of getting used to when your norm has been to wear jeans.
@ slimcat my favourite sweatshirt is looking a bit worn so I am on the hunt for a plain or simple graphic sweatshirt
@cat2 - yes I have a utility jacket.

@ CarolS a cream jumper is also a great idea. I have so many skirts now i need to have the tops to play around with them.

@ approprio - I do get what you mean about intention. I am always in a hurry to get dressed so probably have to have a few options ready. I definitely need another sweatshirt which is not 'activewear'.

I agree with the poster who said once you get used to the comfort of skirts, going back to pants is difficult. You look great and I like these skirts. You inspired me to look for more skirts online

I adore the ensemble in pic 4. You could add black leggings for winter - it's what I used to do when I lived in Tasmania. Best wishes.
