I like skinnies too, they are very apple friendly, but probably my fave silhouette is bootcut. Fluid trousers will be something I'll have to adjust to, but I bet Sveta's happy! I'll be interested to hear more updates! Thanks, Angie.

Man, I just got on board with skinnies! I'll adopt the wide-leg fashion in maybe five years' time. :^) I do own a couple of bootcut jeans, though!

Yay for fluidity! Can't wait to see your pics Angie!

Praise the powers that be. I'm sick of skinnies.

Yeah for wide legs!! I have been wearing them for years. Sarah Pacini from Italy/Belgium does a fantastic wide leg pant that suits my style. I have a few other designers wide legged pants but if they were mainstream then that would be better for my bank account.

I wear some with heels and some cropped. I think it depends on the style and having longer legs.

I think if you are going for wide legs the fabric cannot be thick. It has to be quite thin really... almost drapey.
I am interested in the height of the trouser, at the waist or below.
Personally , hate at the waist but... I can't imagine them easily wide from the hip either....

Angie, I'm curious -- do you think that future trouser trends will be mostly the fabrics and colors, rather than fit? In other words, if all fits are on-trend, what will be the "new season's" trouser? I think it sounds like a great situation, with bootcuts, wide-legs, skinnies, straight-legs, etc all being a current look.

And does that mean that the most current updates to the newest season's looks will be by changing the tops and shoes?

This is wonderful news. I'm so bored with skinnies. Now if only I can find some wide, but not too wide, trousers that fit!

I love would love it if this trend blossomed into some suiting options. A bit of a wide leg with a lovely fitted cropped jacket is just so elegant Katherine Hepburn style. I hope will see more choice in silhouettes in pants, can a girl have too many options ? '-)

... slouchy tapered trouser silhouette... Music to my ears! Thanks, Angie for keeping us informed.

It will be nice to have fresh options, and maybe this means the designers are pushing the last of the calf-sucking skinnies, and that's why they've been flooding the stores lately.

Just when I start wearing skinnies. Sigh.
But thanks for the update!

Count me one of the happys! I have made no secret at all of my dislike of skinnies. I will be glad to have more choice and hoping this filters down soon.

I love wide-legged trousers but I mostly don't wear heels during the day so the tapered but slouchy option sounds wonderful - can't wait to see your picks Angie.

Hmmm... I wore my one pair of wider leg trousers on Wednesday. I'm not ready to completely give up my skinnies, though. I like having a choice.

Unless I missed it, I would be interested to hear if the trend of cropped pants (which seems to be all the stores are carrying now), is on the way out.

Just tell me they're not cropped, lol!

Amen, Claire! And I hope they're not all high waisted too!

Like these, Angie?

I hope these will arrive later in Petite size, as I fear the crotch may hit me wrong and the Size 2 may be too big.

Doing my happy dance!

Oh, hooray.
I was a latecomer to skinnies and my few pairs are on their last legs ( ) so their demise worries me not a whit.
I was happy to embrace harem pants and it sounds like they were a pre-cursor of this trend.
So long as there is some referencing back to the body's structure, either at the ankle or the waist/high hip, I will be very happy.

As long as some are tapered I think I'll be all right

Yay, I love wearing wider trousers!

Dancing alongside Beth Ann! Thanks for sharing the news.

So pleased to hear this as I bought a pair of black "slouch fit chinos" yesterday and love the look and the way they fit!!

So interesting. Looking forward to more of your observations Angie!

I'm all for lots of variety but wide trousers are not my favorite. Maybe I need help with proportions and styling.

Hmmm, interesting. I think it's a great look for a slim long torso. What I've seen so far is wide legs worn with a bare midriff or at least, an outfit where the focus is on the midriff. It's been such a relief these past few years while the focus has not been on the midriff, it's been on the leg. Anyway I will be interested to see how this look can be translated to the average and in my case aging figure.

Fan-freakin-tastic!!! I am so ready for a huge selection of lucious, glamorous, wild leg pants.

HOORAY! I've been waiting for this moment for the past 10 years!
I hate skinnies. I just never could feel confident in them.
