I like skinnies too, they are very apple friendly, but probably my fave silhouette is bootcut. Fluid trousers will be something I'll have to adjust to, but I bet Sveta's happy! I'll be interested to hear more updates! Thanks, Angie.
Yeah for wide legs!! I have been wearing them for years. Sarah Pacini from Italy/Belgium does a fantastic wide leg pant that suits my style. I have a few other designers wide legged pants but if they were mainstream then that would be better for my bank account.
I wear some with heels and some cropped. I think it depends on the style and having longer legs.
I think if you are going for wide legs the fabric cannot be thick. It has to be quite thin really... almost drapey. I am interested in the height of the trouser, at the waist or below. Personally , hate at the waist but... I can't imagine them easily wide from the hip either....
Angie, I'm curious -- do you think that future trouser trends will be mostly the fabrics and colors, rather than fit? In other words, if all fits are on-trend, what will be the "new season's" trouser? I think it sounds like a great situation, with bootcuts, wide-legs, skinnies, straight-legs, etc all being a current look.
And does that mean that the most current updates to the newest season's looks will be by changing the tops and shoes?
I love would love it if this trend blossomed into some suiting options. A bit of a wide leg with a lovely fitted cropped jacket is just so elegant Katherine Hepburn style. I hope will see more choice in silhouettes in pants, can a girl have too many options ? '-)
It will be nice to have fresh options, and maybe this means the designers are pushing the last of the calf-sucking skinnies, and that's why they've been flooding the stores lately.
Count me one of the happys! I have made no secret at all of my dislike of skinnies. I will be glad to have more choice and hoping this filters down soon.
I love wide-legged trousers but I mostly don't wear heels during the day so the tapered but slouchy option sounds wonderful - can't wait to see your picks Angie.
Hmmm... I wore my one pair of wider leg trousers on Wednesday. I'm not ready to completely give up my skinnies, though. I like having a choice.
Unless I missed it, I would be interested to hear if the trend of cropped pants (which seems to be all the stores are carrying now), is on the way out.
Like these, Angie? http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/la.....n=wishlist I hope these will arrive later in Petite size, as I fear the crotch may hit me wrong and the Size 2 may be too big.
Oh, hooray.
I was a latecomer to skinnies and my few pairs are on their last legs ( ) so their demise worries me not a whit.
I was happy to embrace harem pants and it sounds like they were a pre-cursor of this trend.
So long as there is some referencing back to the body's structure, either at the ankle or the waist/high hip, I will be very happy.
Hmmm, interesting. I think it's a great look for a slim long torso. What I've seen so far is wide legs worn with a bare midriff or at least, an outfit where the focus is on the midriff. It's been such a relief these past few years while the focus has not been on the midriff, it's been on the leg. Anyway I will be interested to see how this look can be translated to the average and in my case aging figure.
