Most male strangers are NOT creepers!!! I've only been really offended once, and I don't think the guy was sane. He asked me for coffee (I was reading on the street, waiting for a friend), I said no, then asked me whether I would like to have sex. I left and waited somewhere else, period.
Other than that, yes, I have received random unwanted attention but it didn't get to the point of creepy. Once a guy insisted on 'having coffee, getting to know me, blahblah' but I just told him I didn't know him nor wanted to and he backed off. I think he got the wrong impression because he asked me for directions (was from Hungary) and I was glad that I got to practice my English so maybe I acted a bit too nice. I think in most cases is pretty easy to either leave or tell him 'not interested', 'I have a boyfriend', whatever.
It's nice that a guy writes about this issue though. I'm much more offended by sexual 'compliments' on my body than by someone wanting to know something about me or ask me on a date.
