Our income is very small lately, so I haven't been shopping in what seems like forever. Lucky for me YLF helped me find other fashion-related fun to occupy my time, such as shopping my closet, editing my closet, and figuring out what holes need to be filled.
When a little cash came my way recently, I was poised to pounce. And pounce I did. I even shopped the end-of-season sales, which is something I had never been able to wrap my mind around before I found YLF.
There is so much wisdom on this forum. I just wanted to share with you a sample of the voices in my head while I was shopping:
* Sona said to remember “I *wear* a size 12, instead of I *am* a size 12”.
* ClearlyClaire reminds me to shop my dominant season, and it's ok to have some tops and sandals that might wear out quickly since that is the nature of summer wear.
* Rae decided to spend her money on a special coveted boot, so it's ok to splurge on that much-desired item.
* Angie wisely recommends that I have my wits about me when making a purchase. This one really came in handy. I had tried on and chosen quite a few items at H&M, was in the long checkout line to buy them, and their music was really blaring. It had been fun when I first got there, but that was an hour and several Ricky Martins ago, and now I was just tired. I was trying to decide what to keep, and what to put back, Suddenly I had a flash of brilliance, “H&M will still be here tomorrow.” I put it ALL back and went home. Then I thought about the items, discussed them with hubs, and went back the following day and bought only the ones that will be workhorses for me.
So thank you, voices in my head!
I will be posting some outfits soon with some of these new babies, but for now I leave you with the most Angie-inspired purchase I made, a lovely clutch purse with a dash of sour lemon!
