So, week 2 of my "Una challenge" to try and force myself to think a bit more about what I am going to wear, and mix things up more. The criteria I need to hit are the following...need to get all of these, with overlap allowed:
1. The FFBO… comfortable dress trousers and a sweater.
2. Long/oversized over lean (a silhouette which is good on me, and I need to play with more)
3. Colour
4. Pants that are either coloured or patterned (way too easy for me to wear black or navy every day)
5. A skirt or a dress
6. A wildcard or pushing the envelope a bit. This would include copying an inspiration, or one of Angies styling recommendations
And what I wore:
#1. Long/oversized over lean. Wore this to my dinner club… great outfit for eating in J. EF tunic, VC leggings
#2. More long/oversized over lean.
#3. Colour and trying new styling ideas… still trying to figure out the layering thing.
#4. Yet more colour and layering, plus my culottes wildcard. This is a blatant
copy of N-Marie’s post a couple of weeks ago, shown here: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....nt-sweater
#5. A dress
#6. Another dress. This is the BR Suz PJ dress… I ordered it “just to see”. Well, I don’t think I’ve ever torn tags off an item of clothing so quickly.
This dress is AMAZING. Wore it out to dinner for a meet up with L’Abeille.
#7. Patterned pants. The new Gap black/denim plaid skinnies… I kept the long ones.
So, the only outfit I didn’t try was the FFBO! This is a GOOD thing. And yes, the challenge again forced me to plan a bit more than normal, and directed what I wore on Friday.
I’m also sensing a bit of a theme here… I seem to be gravitating towards dark
pink this season. I hope it works on me. Actually, I can't believe I went a whole week with no cobalt!
As always, I'd love any suggestions you have re styling.
Happy Black Friday! (Still holding tough here, but not totally sure I'm going to last the night)
