This trench is proving to be like marmite (you either love it or hate it) hehe.

As suggested by Maya (thanks for the great outfit suggestion) on the other thread here is the trench with some outfits

I like it with all outfits except the wide leg jeans (too much volume going on)

I am not sure that I am yet qualified to give other people fashion advice lol, but here goes! I would say that the trench looks fab with the dress very classic styling. I would like to see the wide leg jeans with heels before I can say for sure if I like them with it but again I think the more classic style would make this look very tailored and smart. I am not so much a fan of the skinnies and legging options I am sure others will think it looks lovely and I may well be wrong but I can't help but feel they are too modern to match with such a classic styled trench. I am a bit guilty of trying to be too matchy matchy so I will stand corrected if anyone disagrees!
Anyway the coat looks super on you I hope you are really pleased with your purchase.

I'd agree that it doesn't work with the wide leg pants. I am no coat expert so would say it looks good with the others. The only outstanding question I have is whether the length works with the skirts. I don't think I've every gotten the coat/skirt length thing 100% right. I thought the coat was supposed to cover the skirt? This one may do that when you arm is lowered. And I also may be wrong about coat length. I hope someone who knows chimes in.

I like the coat with everything except the wide leg pants. I would be careful, though, of any poofy skirts that would make the bottom of the coat flare out even more. Then it would start to look unbalanced with your top half (maybe add a bright scarf to balance things out?).

Ideally, the coat covers the skirt, but you can also do a shorter coat (like a peacoat) over a dress/skirt. I guess it really depends on the type of coat!

I am a huge fan of this coat. I like it with the dress and dress/leggings; even with the hem of the dress peeking out I think it fits well with your style.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE it with the skinnies. It is so flattering! It highlights your tiny waist and lower legs..

I think you're right. Everything but the wide legs. It looks especially lovely with the dress, but is still super with skinnies and leggings.

I absolutly adore this trench and agree with you that it works with everything other than the wide leg trousers. I think you need to see the shape of your leg to balance the volume.

My favorites are with the dress and with skinnies; the wide legs as shown, not so much. I'd like it with ankle length leggings or black tights or textured nylons better than the shorter leggings for a more streamlined look.

I didn't comment earlier, but I think the trench is GREAT. It's not your typical style and to me that makes it special. It looks fantastic on you. I think you can even get away with wearing it with the wide legs. It's not ideal, but I don't think it's worth it to give up the unusual style for the wide legs or buy a second trench to work with the wide legs unless it's practical for you to have multiple trenches.

Love the trench! I'm a big fan of wide leg jeans and trenches, perhaps because I'm nearly 5'7" and usually wear 2-3" heels. Wide leg jeans never look good if you are barefoot. Try it with heels before you give up on the look.

Patience i agree i can't warrant 2 trenches i'm a bit overloaded on coats now!

So late, but I still wanted to tell you how much I love that trench on you. And while it may not be a 10 with wide legs, it certainly isn't horrendous or anything like that. I'm thrilled you found something so versatile and lovely!

Denim jacket is fab! Have you tried it over your frocks yet? Check that the length is spot on.

My instant reaction to the trench was that it was absolutely KILLER (and I always trust my instant reaction). I adore the retro A-line fullness of the silhouette on your pretty body. I would not give my thumbs up on this style to most people, but you get a huge big green light! I just know you’ll wear it and love it. After seeing you post outfits with it I’m doubly convinced. So, so elegant. This style speaks to your fearless fashion side. I hope I’ve convinced you to keep it :0)

( Btw Maya is spot on – no wide-leg pants with this style, but boot cuts are fine). Yay Louise! You are ready for Autumn.

I love it! It looks fantastic with the dress, leggings and skinnies. I also bought a trench coat with a full skirt in a beautiful sky blue. I'll post a photo tomorrow!
