I promised suntiger a report on this...

This is a tale of persistence. Fortunately, my shopping-related talents include spotting things others don’t spot, and making surgical strikes.

I was on the hunt for a navy blue work sized purse. Preferably Rebecca Minkoff, and preferably a Regan Satchel Tote.

I passed on one Regan I saw last week in a pebbled navy because I am trying to keep to a monthly budget. The month wasn’t quite over, and I also knew that there was a Minkoff sample sale scheduled for this week. I took a gamble and waited.

However, RM doesn’t make too many navy bags right now, but since I did a lot of purse shopping 2-4 years ago, I couldn’t really justify anything but a navy bag, preferably my dream bag. (My space is limited and I’m passing on two smaller bags, and possibly a larger one that is too heavy, to help justify this one.)

The tables at the sample sale were a sea of other colors, including the right bag model in a teal. I have bags in other shades of blue, just not navy. How can I of all people not own a navy bag that’s big enough to bring to work? I held out against adding to the other blues.

Dear readers, to be honest, I almost settled for a random navy bucket bag. I almost gave up. *hangs head*

But then my eye caught on something, half hidden by other bags of different colors. It was ONE, and only one, navy blue Regan Satchel Tote. It’s a waxed leather and I like it even better than the pebbled bag I passed on last week.

Reader, I bought the bag. And we shall live happily ever after.

ETA - took a photo on my way out of the building.
