Lisa P, it IS a fab match with my bag. Love that.

We haven't started packing up for the move yet. Will do so when we get back from our trip mid April. Trust me - the house will look like a bomb has hit it in no time....

Now I’m hungry for ice cream. Vanilla is my son’s favorite flavor.

Also, what deb said

Love these - great color! I have some black Ecco sneakers that I love (and I am not a sneaker person) and am wearing right now. I don't think they are quite the same style as yours but close.

I'm with you about driving - it wouldn't make me feel bad if I never had to drive!

What a brilliant solution! I have those sneakers in the black quilted version and they are indeed super comfortable for all day wearing. I recently bought these grey Born ones that are similar, and also have a removable insole so you could put another one beneath it. (Love the little zipper detail)

I don’t need an insole for either pair, but I do in lots of others shoes, for more cushioning. It’s such a simple solution but one I bet few of us without have come up with, thanks for sharing. I have feet similar to yours but not quite as narrow, so I pay attention to your footwear choices.

What I really need is a solution like this that works for sandals So many choices that others can wear are too loose around the instep for me when the rest fits fine, even sometime when there are adjustable straps across the ball of the foot. Going to a narrow width is hit-or-miss for me, because my feet are not narrow in width but do have low arches and arches (like you). I suppose it would have to be something that could be adhered to the foot bed. Seems a very tall order.

YAY for an innovative SA! glad you found a pair of sneakers that makes you happy!

And best of luck with the move!

Awesome tip! Glad you finally got your sneaks

What a brilliant idea! So glad you will be able to enjoy those sneakers that you have been coveting for so long. I am tempted, esp since you shared a pic of them IRL with white denim and next to your lovely pearls. The stock photo is very, very deceptive. I would have passed them up just on the color. If they are that comfy I may have to add them to my collection too! ;-). Oh and congrats on the new house!!

I love it when things like this work. Just opens up a range of possibilities.

Angie, I’m still thanking you from the advice you gave me a couple of years or so back about heel lift inserts. They work every time and I am so grateful for your wisdom. It’s made so much difference to every pair of shoes.

Thanks, ladies.

Robin F, I like to be driven.

Chris, sounds like you need an insole that sticks to the footbed of sandals. Nice Ecco sneaks!

Jane
, YAY. Thrilled to hear that, and I hope you're well. Cheers to happy feet

Mntsofthemoon, these sneaks will work for you too, I bet. Lovely with your red hair.

I super wanted Ecco sneakers to work for me, but they are a bit too low volume for me -- they squished the tops of my little toes, although I don't really have high-volume feet. Alas as they are super good looking shoes. Glad you could make them work for you.

*carries off ice cream*
Looks like a great solution- but our feet get Narrower as we age?! :0
The shoe making powers that be need to give us more choices then!

Angie, I didn’t know you were moving!

great idea! I love my Eccos and am wearing my silver 8s right now. Only I have the opposite issue--with socks they are a bit too snug. So i've loosed up the laces but the stock laces are a bit too short--just need to order up some longer ones.

I have several pairs of eccos & love the support. Even the Mr has a few pairs and they are his most comfortable. I also have the white 3 strap ones & love the chunky vibe but they are too wide--so maybe ill try that trick with them

It’s fun to read your excitement for these shoes! Glad a way was discovered to make them work for you. That vanilla color is delicious, and quite different than what’s shown in the stock photo.

Exciting about the upcoming move, too.

Rebekh, aren’t laces amazing that way? Drives me nuts to see them replaced by zippers, and zippers added to lace-up shoes (my red boots included) just seems pointless to me. I sometimes find the stock laces too short; when my son ties his shoes snugly, the fabric around the grommets on other side touch.

Suntiger, I think people’s feet change in different ways as we age.

Angie - agree! I love a road trip as long as I don’t have to drive! Luckily hubby prefers to do the driving

Robin F, HUGE HIGH FIVE

Suntiger, some people's feet shrink with age (like mine). Others grow wider and longer.

Diana, YES. Moving 2 miles down the road in Seattle. Excited.

Nebraskim, rotten luck. It's an art to fit shoes comfortably. Like bras.

Windchime, you are lovely.

FashIntern, Greg loves vanilla ice-cream like your DS. One of his faves.

Rebekahphoto, those are fab sneaks. And hasn't our Seattle weather been sublime.

Fashiontern, yes. I have a love+ hate with laces! I have a high instep, but generally average foot. I love a pointy toe but my toes are often squished! I like the simplicity of a sleek slip on or zipper, but many times they are just too tight on the instep.

so laces tend to win out on sneakers, but I double tie them as they always seem to come undone....which reminds me of this for Angie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Epj84QVw2rc

Angie our weather has been incredible! I was just commenting to the Mr that ive been able to wear a lightweight puffer commuting for work for weeks and its so nice to leave the heavier, rainproof winter coat at home!

I have worn Eccos for years (my Danish side hehe) & have a little collection

Rebekah, I've used different lacing methods when laces are too short or too long with some success -- try googling alternate lacing methods to get a bit more length from your laces before you buy new ones.

janet good idea! Im always so basic with the lacing. need to up my game

I think one of the methods is called "army lacing"? There's another one too -- it's escaping me at the moment, maybe "bow tie" lacing.

Janet & Rebekh, here’s an amazing collection of ways to tie your shoes that I came across a few years ago. https://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/lacingmethods.htm

Lacing shoes in a particular way to manipulate the length is a great idea, Janet.

Rebekahphoto, FUN incorporating your Danish roots into your style, and I've been wearing jackets instead of coats. AMAZING.

Oh, I'm so glad, Angie! What a perfect colour for you, too! Love them.

I am on my second pair of the chalk white ones, which are perfect for my silvery hair, of course. I also have to double insoles with my Eccos, and use Superfeet (different versions in different sneakers) to make up for the extra width. But once I do that, they work well for me. Such a fantastic brand. My silver Ecco 8s are on their 3rd year and looking a bit worse for wear yet I swear I get compliments on them every time I put them on.

Oooo those are cute. Perfect for you. Nice to know about the insole trick.

I love my Ecco Soft 7 zips...I have duplicated several colors. I am so afraid they will stop making them.

When I read this post last week and saw the photos, I knew these were the sneakers I have been looking for! Thanks, Angie! I've already got 3 other pair of these eccos, but had been searching for the perfect "beige" or cream...they have just arrived and are PERFECT!

Shoelaces are my nemesis!* Need to find the stretchy sort for my trainers so I don't have to tie and untie every day.
*also buckles on sandals*
