The tale of four denim dresses

Awhile back I purchased three denim/chambray dresses on ebay. I have finally gotten around to trying them on and photographing them. I must admit, I like them all and super pleased with them, even if they are all similar...there are enough differences to make me happy. They all came with self fabric belts, but I do not like how they look on me with a belt, so off came the loops! All were tried on with my Vans (which are the same color as my legs so you might not be able to see them. Thankfully you cannot see how hairy my legs are in the photos!), I think they would all look fab with booties. OOh, and my white birks...pleasepleaseplease let it warm up!

#2 Gap tencel chambray Love
#3 Rachel Roy tencel high-low split hem LOVE...except it has slippery buttons and I'm always one stride away from being undressed! Can this be remedied in a way that doesn't involve me removing all of the buttons and replacing them? I hate sewing buttons (that I' will leave to the tailor)
#4 BR denim dress from last year NOOOO! So short for me, more of a tunic. Not my fave.

That's it gals! Hope you all are well..spring is coming here in MN and I am getting exited! 45F today and 50's tomorrow!

I agree that they are all different enough that keeping all three makes sense if you love denim dresses. The last one is definitely too short on the sides now. I think it would look good as a tunic with leggings though.

Wow, you must really like your denim dresses! Do you really wear them enough to need three? I like them all on you, and agree that the BR one is more of tunic on you (Funny... _I_ just got a BR one this year, but had to get the long in order for it to have decent length). I can see 1 and 2 being a bit of a duplication, with #3 being more "dressy.

Love them with the vans, and yes,... will look great with white birks, and booties... all options I'm looking forward to wearing mine with. And white loafers.

I like all three and they look different enough that I think you'll get use out of all three. I agree that the fourth is too short to be a dress!

As for the slippery buttonhole issue, why don't you just sew the button placket closed? You can still put it on just fine over your head. You don't have to sew all the way down if you are feeling lazy, just the part that pops open. It fixes gaping bust buttons too if that is an issue.

Diana- I would have sew the entire placket down! Not an issue, I do have a swing machine. I suppose I could sew from the third button from the top down to the last three buttons...food for thought. Thanks!

Really great finds!! I'm not super crazy about light denim, and yet 1 really sings to me! I love them all, though definitely needs leggings. In agreement: sew those slippery buttonholes in place.

Or just hand stitch the buttonholes so they're a bit smaller.

You wear these denim dresses just as well as you wear your jeans (which is to say, they are fantastic on you)! I agree the last one looks more like a tunic. Would you wear it over leggings? Angie suggested a denim dress over navy leggings in a recent post (maybe the ink-out ensemble), and it stuck in my head as something I want to try.
I like Diana's idea on the buttons. If the buttons are too small for the buttonhole, missvee's idea will work well, too. I would pick out new buttons and change them, but I agree that's a bit of a bother.
