Nearly a week out from getting the stylist in and I am feeling like I have SOOO much work to do. I was left with the task of making up a look book so I can identify outfits at a glance through, making it easy to pack for trips and getting over the nothing to wear/constant shopping woe. Ok, have folder and plastic sleeves, have most of the categories set up AND NOTHING ELSE... So the few WIWs are in there but its a mighty thin lot of folder content. I have set my task of identifying 2 or 3 outfits everytime I get dressed and quickly trying them on and getting a quick photo to put in. I hope this will help fill in some of the categories. I am also going away for a week next week so I am madly rushing to make 5 days of smart casual, about 3 casual evening outfits and in transit outfits so hope this fast forwards filling a category or two of the look book.
The good news is and an interesting insight is finding the HOLES amongst all the stuff at my place... and how already some are being filled in. The stylist pointed out I needed better fit in my basics, look for variations in the types of outfits and to use my accessories to shooz up even my basic. sFor example, now that I have been to the cobbler, I have a black casual shoe and bag combo that easily goes with many of the outfits I am making up. I have my first ligher coloured casual bag and now I have a bunch of shoe/bag combos that will work in the day. In my packing I have long pants, shorts, skirt and a dress - some of these pieces we bought shopping in the session. So I feel like with out 12 garments 2 sandals and 2 bags that I am good to go! My shopping list of things to fill in holes and complete combos continues to grow but guess that is better than randlomly shopping for more stuff. Wow, its been much harder work than I thought but I am pleased with how it is going! Thanks for listening!
