Stripes of all types please! Big fan!

No, I can’t say I love them , need them or wear them . Every few years I think I SHOULD have one or two because they are “ so essential “ , so I currently have three in my closet ( 2 long sleeve , 1 short sleeve ) but honestly never wear them . Not sure what it is ……but I can live without them , that’s for sure .

Hah! I'm a huge fan of the Breton top and a huge fan of striped tops and sweaters in general. Love the stripe variety you are showing here Sal.

No matter how many striped tops are in my closet, I always find it very hard to resist their call when I come across another one;-)

Liz - Oooh thank you for the Hema tip, off to check out the offerings!

I am joining the kkards and Inge lineup, in competition for biggest addict ever!

Funny you should ask, though, because my beloved old boatneck mariner from LL Bean is toast (I wore it for a decade, so...you know...) and they don't seem to be making them. So. I need to find a replacement. It's not going to be easy, believe it or not -- that sweater had just the right weight and heft to work as a top in cool weather (and layer over) or as a summer sweater over a sleeveless top.

Anyway...the current stripe lineup. As you can see, I like them in various cuts and weights and wear across all seasons. For me, they are essentials in navy and white (light or dark background) and an excellent addition in other colours.

I kind of come and go with stripes. I find them versatile for mixing but then I'll go years without any. Right now I have a few basic striped tees and a thin striped sweater that I love so much it is getting ratty

I also have a lifelong love affair with stripes of many colours and widths. But currently I am picky about which ones I wear, preferring lower contrast, so classic black or navy and white are out - for now.
I have two tees currently, one is thrifted brown and cream and I plan to pattern-mix it with this new oversized check blazer asap (currently laying low with a cold so my planned office day outfits aren’t getting worn!). The other one is shown and I love it because it’s *creamy* white and *heathered* grey. The find I own and I think it counts because it’s tee shirt dress The couch is one I admire from the TV show Only Murders in the Building - I have a chair I will be getting recovered and this may act as inspo. Finally, one of my all-time favourite fashion combos is a classic black and white striped tee or dress and classic Cons with the black-on-white ‘stripes’ on the sole and toe!

Thanks, Star. You are lovely

Looks like we have a pack of Queen Stripes!

I love striped shirts! I only have three right now. A st james white with black stripes that I've had for a very long time...had to mend some holes in it. A white with navy stripe colab st james with j crew with a dropped shoulder that's great for under sweaters because the sleeves are tighter and a new one last year from Jcrew thats taupe with navy stripes that is a bit of an orphan. It just doesn't fit quite right or it's too heavy a fabric.

Only sometimes Sally. Not a fave pattern of mine but usually have one. For years it was a cobalt and white striped tank bought very cheap in KMart Australia for maybe $8? 2011? Edited out about 2 years ago.
Funnily enough my opposite number (the other grandmother of baby, mother of my son-in-law), who lives in Vietnam, sent a black and white striped tank as a gift for “Tet” ( Vietnamese New Year) so I have another! I am wearing it in my profile pic.
I am definitely no Queen of stripes.

I have at least half a dozen. I find the wide stripes unflattering, but a high contrast narrow stripe to be the opposite. Mostly Boden
or J. Crew. They are workhorses!

There are a few Queens of Stripes! Loved seeing the variety and hearing the opinions. Quite varied. I can see that stripes are harder for some people- and a very easy addition for others.

More stripes here! I even have them in lingerie and pj form.

They are still a very strong staple for me, and I love the way the dress down a blazer, which is how I wear them most, but I do have to say that I am wearing blazers less at the current moment, and find I reach for chambray button downs more often.

This collection of finds does make me realize that it's time to prune some of the older versions from the closet, since they are not all pristine (bagged out or worn) and I've cycled in plenty of new ones recently. I am more picky about the state of my tees and knits than I used to be.

I have yet to get sick of them!

In keeping with my old school geek-chic prep thing, most of the stripes in my wardrobe are B&W or white and blue, but I am open to stripes of every...wait for it.... stripe.

There are even more Stripy Queens!!

It’s good to see everyone else’s collections.

Yes! It I need to add some sweater versions. I have sleeveless to long sleeved tees in a variety of colors but most are black and white or navy and white. The widest stripes are on a sleeveless version. The narrowest stripes are on a two piece dress. I can’t tell if it is black and white or navy and white.

I do not have any striped tees. I had one in the 80s and two in the 70s. Currently, I have a striped blazer that is probably 18 years old in my wardrobe.

I am definitely a member of Angie’s Stripe Queen Pack!
I always have a variety of striped tee shirts, turtlenecks, and sweaters in my closet. I enjoy stripes in many colors (always combined with white). Colors include white with black, navy, red, yellow, and light blue. Stripes are my favorite pattern!

Interesting to read about peoples love for stripes - or not.
