I also have been fearful of cropped pants for my petite height, but since I've been sick and apparrently delusional... I forgot all about that fear and have ordered and received 3 pairs navy, yellow and hot pink... Definitley planning to wear with wedges, heels or pointed toe flats... Hoping I end up liking it...

Fun post
It's falling because I've preferred my dresses & skirts for summer.
My Birkies are VERY happy they are no longer considered frumpy

The sky is falling all around me. For starters, I have bought MANY loafers (for fussy foot reasons) in the past 6 months, and loafers are in! I don't think I've ever actually been on trend, heaven forbid early to the party. Secondly, I went shopping today and came home with all neutral clothes! (Of couse there was quite a bit of colorful costume statement jewelry in my shopping bag as well). I've bought 3 dresses in the past month. YLF has never seen me in a dress! Finally, I have tried on all my cropped pants and set them aside to take to the tailor in order to achieve PPL!

Angie - do you have ANY idea how happy you make all of us? How with your kind and patient guidance and nudging you help us try these new things. We grow BECAUSE of you!

Um, I purchased jeans with holes? That I swore I'd never do because I thought only poseurs wore pre-destroyed jeans? And I actually have to admit that I like it? (I think the rips add to the relaxed, boyfriendy look).

Yes, Angie! We need a new sky. Not only I became a pointy AND flat shoes fan, but I like to wear them with slouchy jeans and pants. And I bought a pastel clutch! My shopping history could make you think that somebody stole my identity (more like the opposite, in fact). A big thanks for that.

I had to run from my car to the house with an umbrella, so I don't get hit with bits of sky. Wow, lots of great changes here, it looks like it was time for a real shake up of personal styles, so fun! (I have started eyballing skirts, I haven't worn a skirt in years, why am I looking at them all of a sudden. I guess sooner or later, we all need a change).

Gaylene, I loved seeing your post! Yay!!

What a fun post. I agree that Angie is a wonderful guide to the world of fashion. I am culling my old clothes now that I am back home. It is still incredibly cold. Next shopping trip I am looking to buy shoes that are decorative and not functional. Yes my feet hurt constantly but I have a wardrobe of Birks, etc. I need something gorgeous on my feet.

Gaylene posted a picture!! Yay!! So wonderful to see you!

This is such a fun thread! I'm skiing and now in a panic that the white frames will be gone and I will be the subject of an Angie Apoplexy!

I am wearing mostly skirts these days, after having been a pants only person for many years. At first I would get a lot of reactions from others but now nobody comments about it anymore. I think I got them used to it!

I'm FINALLY embracing lower rises and understanding the genius (as long as they fit just right)...

.....and now higher rises are coming back into style.

sigh.

Hello Gaylene! So glad you've been coxed!
Hmm, I am suddenly feeling the urge to do something radical, but what?

Such a fun thread and you "coxed" Gaylene out of hiding!
Gaylene, you are beautiful!
Like Shevia, I feel like doing something wild but the days of a shocking pink midriff- baring cropped top with tight little white short shorts are OVER.
I am considering going back on my no linen vow. My pointy - toe silver loafers would never have been considered if it weren't for YLF.

I bought and wore (today) this DRAPEY blouse! And wore the same one in a different color last week. Believe it or not, drapiness is new territory for me.

Due to narrowish sloping shoulders, I find it psychologically difficult to surrender my waist. Drapey stuff makes the girls look bad and is generally a dumpy look on me. When I sized down, the shoulders on this fit, the neckline wasn't too low, and the gathered sleeves gave me enough structure. The blouse wrinkles like the dickens, however.

I also bought and wore *Greyscale's drapey T from Uniqlo. I know it is hard to believe, but this is my first venture into drapiness as structured wovens tend to flatter me much more than almost any knit.

Finally, I bought LOAFERS. I've never owned loafers in my entire life since I usually have quite a poison eye for them. The Born bronze ones arrived yesterday evening:

Jury is still out since one heel slips a little, but the heel height is so-o-o comfy for me and they are so pretty. I hope to keep them and would even consider ordering another pair to see if the sizing is slightly different.

Oh, and I just discovered that the pumps I own and never wear have POINTY toes. If I wear them without hose, they might stay on my feet if I wear them for mostly sitting days.

DonnaF, we will be shoe twins!

Shevia - umm .... Assymetric hair cut IS radical???!!!! :). Not sure if you have done that earlier, but for a hair freak like me ... Boy ... It is radical! I went for the shortest hairstyle (longish bob) of my lifetime last year December and it wouldn't have been possible without YLF encouragement!

Joy - I thought of your pointy toe loafers too!

Gaylene - You sure got coxed! Lol! Gorgeous pic!

And I am enjoying reading everyone's adventure! Go fabbers!

Did anyone else realize that what may be radical to us might not be radical to someone else? And vice versa??!!!!

Whaaaat...posting a picture isn't radical to anyone but me?/??

GAYLENE! How did I not see you earlier?! And you look a lot like IronKurtin/Dana to me - so THRILLED to see you1 Sorry to gush - I'll quell myself now.

Yes! IK came to my head too Una!! Very similar looking, aren't they?!

Hi Gaylene! Nice to see you! I agree, you do look like IK's twin sister!

The sky is falling for me because I've been wearing trousers, and slouchy ones to boot. I adore ladylike dresses and skirts, and I never thought I'd embrace trousers with a "dropped crotch".

And I've been wearing a lot of grey and black, for someone who loves color.:

I think the sky would completely crack in half if I were to buy a pair of loafers!

Such a fun thread! Angie keeps us on our fashion toes!

And Neel, can't wait to see your "goldenpig" outfit!

Gaylene
I haven't shopped as much so far this year- 8/10s are being returned!

Thinking about a pair of slouchy pants for summer.

How about:

"...because Angie came THIS CLOSE to buying a pair of distressed-to-holes white jeans."

I know you changed your mind when you saw the holes but it's a slippery slope, my friend. Maybe by the end of the season, you'll be going after all your jeans with a Dremel.

Love this thread! I finally got a citron topper I like! And a white coat(PUleather) I adore and so I can wear white earlier than when's time for only denim jackets. Bought a navy flat (small wedged) pump I wanted soo much after seeing Ingunn's last year. Just yesterday purchased the perfect chambray shirt which may turn me to wearing a buttoned down for work again. Oh, and besides the warming wheather, I saw Gaylene in a pictie. I tell y'all, girls, my sky is down on earth for sure!:-)

I am really enjoying reading this thread! Next to all of your revolutions, my desire for blush pink is so tame.

And OMG Gaylene posted a picture!!!!

You lot are a scream. There is mega sartorial shift in the air. As April pointed out - I nearly bought white jeans with holes in them. Janet alerted me in time though.

Lisa & Caro are into skirts - WOW. Vicki is exposing her toes. Amazing.

Una, please prevent my apoplexy and get the white specs.

Gaylene, like I said, you won the sky is falling down competition. Hands down.

Shannon, you're awfully sweet. Thank you for the kind words. xo

Shevia, love your asymmetric haircut. That's your radical for the year.

Ohmigosh, I'm so glad I checked back in.. or I would have missed Gaylene's pic! Lol.

Ok, now the world can proceed to end

I love this thread Nice to see you Gaylene!
