The search for great wedges - help please!

One of the things I "need" for my winter wardrobe is round toe wedges - something like these ones that I love from Academichic

I want something with a medium sized heel like these ones and I just cant seen to find anything in Australia that's not sky high, pointy toed or sandal like. Any of the Aussie ladies seen anything like this or willing to get something from abroad if they're not too exxy.

I apologize as I do not know what stores you have access to in Australia so I hope some of these work.

Finding a low comfy wedge is the holy grail. Good luck on your quest. I saw a pair of Me Too wedges last year that looked very much like the ones you mentioned. Also 'Report' made some like this, but again that was last year.

Would any of these work?

Karen I don't even look at heels when I'm in shops, so I have no idea what's out there really. A friend of mine got some lovely brown wedges from Witchery about 2 months ago - the heel was slightly higher though, but she swore they were comfy!

Thanks for those links Agrace they are really cute shoes - another thing I cant stop thinking about is Mary Jane shoes and snakeskin fabric - you read my mind!

Thanks Anne & Tam, I dont know why there is nothing like that in Oz - everything I've found are either really plain or look like stripper shoes!

Hey, maybe you should try Diana Ferrari? They often have really on-trend shoes that aren't incredibly uncomfortable.

I notice on their website under their "Supersoft" range they have a wedges collection:

They are a little pricier but will last ages and ages!

I'm probably starting to sound like a broken record, but I love Fly London. Found a few examples on Amazon.com (amazon.co.uk has a much more extensive collection, not sure how expensive shipping to Australia is though - but the British prices are generally much lower than the US ones).

P.S. I very much love many of the Miz Mooz shoes too, but once bought two pairs of wedges and had to return them because they were so uncomfortable. Very stiff leather that didn't stretch over time. I'm quite hesitant to order that brand again, such a pity, because they have fun styles.

Thanks for all those links Tara and I do know what you mean about color selection and variety. All those ones have the more pointy toes and I've yet to find anything round toes - think ballet flat shape but with a wedge heel.

Inge those fly shoes are stunning! Particularly the Bron wedge in Petrol, im drooling over them!

I've got my eye on these Steve Madden Boston Grey Wedge on E-Bay - can anyone provide any feedback on these shoes or Steve Madden in general? Are these good value?

Hey there,

I was in a Rivers clearance store today and they have a MASSIVE range of shoes, round toed, pointy toed, wedges, heels, sandalds, ballet flats, in a huge range of colours, for less than $50. Definitely give them a go if you've got a clearance store in your area.

Wow those Steve Madden shoes are a GREAT price. I've seen Steve Madden shoes in stores here (completey blanking out on where though at the moment), but haven't ever tried them on sorry.

Aussie and US sizes are different, but I'm seeing both plus European sizings printed on a lot of shoes lately.

Oh I like those Steve Madden shoes!!

My friend has a pair of the Novo suede wedges in black and she is really happy with them - but they are a pointy toe.

Puffenstuff, I've scored a couple pairs of Steve Madden shoes for rock bottom prices over the years that I love. Both pairs are low-heeled pumps, and while they're not the most superbly comfortable shoes ever, I get through the day just fine in them. I say if you love them and the price is right for your budget, then go for them!

So have you bought the Steve Madden's yet Karen? I saw a nice pair of pump wedges in the window of the Camper shop today. I'm sure they are incredibly comfy, but with a price tag to go along with it no doubt!

KP they are US sizes I guess - I am normally a 7.5 or 8 depending on the shoe. I am trying to work out if I love them enough to justify getting them posted!

Tam havent brought them yet (Im such a procrastinator!). I have sent a message off for measurements & postage cost fingers crossed everything works out ok!

Oh, great, thanks for educating me Karen! I'm a size 8 myself, so if you buy them, be sure to let me know what the fit is like. (If it were me, I'd almost be tempted just for the whole excitement of the "international shopping experience". Teehee!)
