I went to Express today and as expected, the skirts were way too long. The fluted one was gorgeous but it would have been a really complicated alteration to shorten it and maintain the shape, and since I do not have a good tailor anymore, I try to avoid anything besides very basic alterations. Besides that, I really felt that those skirts would look much better with heels.

I stopped at Express, Ann Taylor, J Crew, H&M, and Lord and Taylor. The Macys at this particular mall isn't all that great. For some reason, the skirt selection this season is miserable. Way too casual and boho, or just plain boring. I'm wondering if I should hold out for NAS, but that is all going to be autumn stuff isn't it? I am looking for a skirt specifically in a lighter, cooler fabric and preferably without a lining. I'm not even sure if a NAS sale will knock down the prices enough for me.

I tried on the H&M jacket with a flower pin, Swanns, and my Club Monaco pants and it was pretty sharp. If I can just find a great funky skirt I think I'm set for any unexpected calls that come my way. So do I wait for NAS? Are there any other stores I should check out that I might have missed?
