Friends, thank you *so* much for your immediate and enthusiastic support. I was flabbergasted by that person's comment. I didn't want to "censor", but after much consideration have decided to delete the comment. If someone wants to offer constructive criticism related to my actual clothes in a respectful manner, that's one thing, but being rude is simply not permitted. That person's IP Address is now blocked, though as a troll s/he will probably not even remember my blog by tomorrow. Which, incidentally, is fine by me!
Isabel, I agree with your inquiry about why "fat" is used as a derogatory comment, too. When I struggled with anorexia and weighed 90 pounds, I felt fatter than I ever do now, at about 40 pounds healthier. This comment made me feel so confused because I don't want to judge anyone based on their body size or composition, which has no reflection on them as a person. And yet, I felt attacked by this essentially anonymous commenter. Such a strange situation. It has given me a lot to think about, with regard to my own feelings about the word "fat".
Anyway, thanks for the back-up, the reality check, and the hugs. I definitely needed them! <<<hugs back at ya!>>>
