Thank you all for such great guidance on the jacket question. Your words made me think about styling, CPW, curbing impluse buys, returning unworn new things, and many important issues related to my shopping habits. I consulted my two closest friends who listed to EVEN MORE of my whinging and moaning about Mr. Fox (and who also, like Janet, sussed out the extra 10% off online). Then I went back to Saks and looked again. Alas, I was wrong about the fabrication. This jacket is only 14% wool! There is 65% linen plus some cotton in there. It looks like lightweight wool but does not really feel like it. I thought it was "Fall" Pre-sale -- I guess it is Spring Pre-sale. To me, this is a Fall/Winter jacket style. It MUST be wool. So there was no question that MY Mr. Fox jacket is still somewhere out in the ether. I left it behind and walked out. The good learning? Ralph Lauren Blue Label makes a smashing riding jacket, and if I can ever find one on-sale and in wool I might be all set.
A quick stop in Bloomingdales and I landed on a dress that fit me! Lo and behold. It must have been the 20th dress I have tried on in the last three days. We'll see if I still love it when it arrives (I had it shipped), but in the store it felt like the perfect graduation / Puerto Rico / summer night out sort of dress. And it's citron. It's by Jessica Taylor, and I got if for half-price. (Everything is on sale right now.) I thought I would wear it with the VC grey cage sandals to graduation, and then with flat sandals out walking in PR.
What do you think of the dress?
