Firecracker--I saw a girl with a blazer and long Bermuda shorts, so I know that can be a great look. I also think crop tops look good this way, and especially an actual bustier. Would be super cute. I can almost get away with it, but I need a few more sit-ups.
Runcarla--share that article again, if you get a chance. I also think the "just a few great basics" and "stealth wealth/old money" trends over the past few years are an attainable way for regular people to get some degree of autonomy from an unreliable economy.
cat2--Oh, I know. Some of it I love, some I hate. That is great what you said about "quiet, calming colors and pieces." I don't know that we always register that, but it is a real reason people are drawn to classic, luxury looks. As for collegiate prep trend--I love it. Perhaps because it was the opposite of how I dressed myself growing up--more boho/mod.
JenniNZ--good to know I am not alone! And they really do carry meaning, so we should want to be wearing them. If you find that thread, link it!
Dee--thanks so much. Maybe I will get more fun blazers. I can think of celebrities like this, mostly men: Elton John, Elvis Costello, Elvis!
