The problem with blazers is that for a wardrobe "basic," they really do have a strong point of view, compared to the other basics. They tend to mean career, business, leadership.... Some people wear them casually, but I look like I am playing dress-up when I do.
But of course I have wanted one, because they create every version in every color and fabric over the years. From a tweedy Ralph Lauren to a suave Hugo Boss, I enjoy looking at them all.
So two weeks ago, a vision popped into my head of a Chevron blazer, and I thought, "well, yes! Maybe that's my answer. It's a little madcap to be taken seriously as a work item." I decided to get one, and realized that is the ticket for people like me--a loud pattern or color that takes away from professionalism. I also am interested in a mustard one, or maybe a boater stripe one.
I decided I wanted one in more of a traditional work wear cut than a Chanel collarless cut. So this is the one I found in my price range. Fun stuff! Styling ideas welcome...this is just with some pants thrown on...
(it is a tad small, and maybe the cut is outdated, but it is just a novelty item!)
