Is anyone else as excited as I am to see pointier toes coming back around? The shape is a little different from the most recent past versions -- a more gradual point that is not so narrow overall, which I think makes it more comfortable and wearable.

I embraced more rounded shapes for a while, and I will continue to wear some of them, but I'm really feeling kind of done with some of my more clunky rounded styles (sadly, including the Doc Sara's). Meanwhile, toe shapes like the ones pictured are appealing to me more and more. The trick is that the more pointed shapes tend to skew more dressy, so I have to watch that I don't buy shoes for my imaginary lifestyle.

I also think it's interesting these seem to be coming back as wider leg pants and jeans may be making a resurgence. Rounded toes always looked more stumpy with wider hems, but pointed toes suit those silhouettes well.

Funny how something that seems stale at one point in time can feel fresh again five years later.

I like the pointy toe. As long as it truly does give me room in the toebox. They tend not to in my experience.

i'm thrilled that the pointed toe is coming back. while i do have rounded toe shoes, i have to admit, i've always kept a few pairs of pointed toes shoes as a current part of my shoe capsule, because i think they work better with a wider variety of pants then rounded toes.

Love the styles you've shown Janet. I have some light cognac heeled oxfords with a perforated toe design like your first pic. Hmm... maybe I should have some boot cut trousers to wear with them.

I see how they are looking on trend, but they are not good for my feet except for limited special occasion wear. This is one area where I'm going to have to chart a path through
" classic" styles, or update through fresh colors or patterns, different heel styles, or something.

But I have those suede burgundy booties I got last year (which I really enjoy). Not sure I could justify two pairs of booties so similar in color, even though the shapes are very different.

Nancy and unfrumped, I know there are a lot of people who find these narrower silhouettes more difficult to wear for comfort and fit reasons. My foot is on the narrower side, so these kind of shoes always tended to fit me better. I remember when the styles changed from the 80s into the 90s and it seems like all the shoes slipped off my feet because they got wider with the more rounded toes! So I moved from pumps to shoes that lace up or otherwise can be secured on the foot. The same thing has happened in recent years. I imagine it must be frustrating when the narrower cuts come back around and they just don't suit your foot!

I am with you, Janet -- I love them for appearance and also for fit they work better for me, providing there is a gentle enough point.

I still like my almond toe booties and shoes but the rounded ones feel more dated. I'm keeping a couple either because they are actually relatively new or they include other up to date style features like prints, but I'm enjoying a more pointy silhouette.

I love a pointy toe, and the more almond ones seem most elegant to me, and like they will have some staying power. My feet tend toward narrow/low volume, and the refined footwear trend as a whole is a real boon for me!

I thrifted a pair of pointy toed flats and I wasn't sure about them at first, they felt really witchy. But I think their strength is how they look good in an outfit and extend the leg line (as Stacy and Clinton say), not how they look by themselves. Kinda how flares can look off the body versus in a whole outfit.

A pointy toe spring/summer shoe is on my list but I haven't had any luck finding one yet. They all seem to be too high. I've bought boots online as there is more fit leeway with a boot but I need to try shoes on

Janet for a long time I have not appreciated pointy toes. I have enjoyed snub toes, square toes, almond toes but this time around I am ready to embrace the pointy toe. I do have one pair of flat pointy toe sling backs that I love. I agree that a pointy toe looks amazing with a wider leg pant and as someone who is petite and prefers a heel, a flat pointed toe managesto elongate leg length without the need for a heel. I am keen for a few pairs of pointy summer flats to wear with skinny jeans and pants:)

I am finally starting to appreciate a shorter pointy toe, which can read as either very classic, or as very edgy, both of which I like.

I don't see myself ever liking the ones that seem to extend for miles. First, they look very dated to me, and second, I don't want to add 4 inches to my foot and I'm not sure why anyone else would either.

I agree that pointy toes look just right with wider leg pants in a way that rounded toes simply don't. But I'm hoping that almond toes will do the trick...after roomier toe boxes, I'm not sure my feet will be happy with less room.

I have been loving and collecting pointy toes for at least a year now. I believe this is the first time in my life they have appealed to me - I had never before understood the point of these toes!

Pointed toes are indeed a classic. Unfortunately, I hate them for myself. They remind me of witch toes (looking down, not on others), and they do not fit my feet well at all. I have mostly almond or rounded toe pumps... or stompy boots. I am favouring the latter this fall/winter. But like I said, pointed toes are a classic and they look great on others. Stock up while they are popular!

I too love a pointy toe. I got some Edmundo Castillo pointy toe booties a while ago which I treasure but due to their dressy-ness don't wear very often. So, to your point, I have struggled to find more pointy toe booties that work for my lifestyle. I have found some long almond-toed Western-style booties from Vintage Shoe Co. that I've worn many times in WIWs. They are a bit of a compromise but very wearable. Finally, I just got these, no occasion to wear yet, but they are that rare breed of RATE pointy toes. They are also my first oxfords.
