The law firm I do most of my work with is down near Wall Street, in New York. They are conservative dressers, with not a lot of creative flair that I've noticed. Most of the women seem to favor matching suit jackets and pants.

Anyway I'm going down for one of my occasional visits later this month. I'm planning to wear a couple years old but still fine black Theory suit (traditional slightly long one button blazer, straight leg pants that are a little longer than ankle length). It's not very warm so may have to have another layer under the pants. I'll wear a silk print blouse, I think. I'm thinking about shoes, warmth and walking comfort.

I have a few nice pumps, which would certainly look sharp with the suit, but are not good for roaming around as I will when we go to lunch. I don't have booties that are well suited to a formal look. I was toying with the idea of a block heel loafer. I don't want to spend a ton of money but would like them to look high end. I did a tiny bit of poking around on line and the only thing I saw as an attractive possibility was Gucci loafers. But they are a lot more than I'd like to spend. I'd be happy if anyone had recommendations or thoughts on this topic.
