La Ped recently wrote about this brand but I am throwing out my praise too. I tried the hipster (Find below) and I now want to throw out every other pair of underwear that I own. They are invisible, they are comfortable, and they DO. NOT. RIDE. UP.

Amazing.

They are one size fits all, which is curious - not sure how much that is actually true, but they do fit me.

It’s awesome to find those underwear that work for you! Yay!

I need a higher cut because those hipster low leg opening styles cut across my widest point and emphasize the issue. Boy shorts are particularly awful for me — I favor higher cut or even string bikini styles. It’s often a bit of a challenge to find styles that are wide enough without being baggy in the behind (sigh, I manage to be wide as a house but not much in the booty department). My favorites are the mesh On Gossamer bikinis.

I took them on my recent trip to Alaska. They were very comfy, washed out nicely, and took up NO SPACE in my suitcase.

The description says they are “a bit cheekier”. Do they cover you completely or do they show a little cheek? I like full coverage!

I can never understand a hipster cut - how are they comfortable sitting way down on your hips? Do they not feel like they are creeping down? Clearly not, or you wouldn't be wearing them

I'm interested in ordering , but would do a high-waist version a la JAileen.

I also like them and have both the low rise and the high rise versions and prefer the latter for me. They do not ride up and do not show under your outfits. They were part of the NAS last year so I will keep an eye open for them this year.

Lynn, they feel like full coverage to me and they don't creep up, which helps them retain coverage. But it's possible they are a tiny bit cheeky. (Usually I cannot keep cheeky pants in place -- boyshorts for me are only for sleeping -- but these stay put.)

Lisap, I have worn hipsters forever. I actually love how they look and feel - similar to boyshorts but with more structure. And again, these don't move or slip; they stay in place. However, they're not high waisted, so you may not like this version.

Has anyone tried the Chantelle boy shorts? I am on the hunt for new undies as well. Does anyone remember Shimera boy shorts from Nordstrom's? They no longer exist. How do the Chantelle undies compare, does anyone know?

I bought the bikini version of these at NAS by mistake... meant to get the hipster. I do NOT look good in bikini cut bottoms... they really look weird on me.... cut me at a strange place. I also prefer a higher cut, so just got some of the french cut ones. They are super comfy, although I will say that I"d prefer them if there was a bit more coverage across the butt.

Underwear fit never ceases to amaze me! I've tried the Chantelle bikini, the hipster, and the high-rise. For me, the the high-rise is the worst of the bunch. They ride up and it's wedgie city. As much as I love a higher rise for my outer layer, I vastly prefer my underwear to sit right at my hips. The low-rise bikini is all right, but not enough coverage in the back, so they aren't quite as invisible as the hipster style. Like Viva, I find the hipster the best of the bunch, but I think this is a matter of body-type. (I didn't bother trying the boyshorts because the legs on that style almost always roll up on me, unfortunately. And I can't speak to the thong because I don't wear them.)

FWIW, Chantelle now offers two size options, the original and the Full which they describe as:

Full coverage look on XS-XL

I'm tempted to try those next!

I have the higher waisted version of the Chantelles and love them. Local lingerie store says they are the most popular brand they sell. I have been enjoying them for about 6 months and notice a little pilling in a couple of pairs. I wash mine in good quality mesh bags and air dry.

I got those last year at NAS with great misgivings, but I really like them too. I only ordered a few pair because I was doubtful. And then, somehow a few pairs of mine disappeared!! (???) Now I need more.

ETA -- what LaPed says is also true for me. Hipsters tend to work best, although sometimes a French cut will work if the high waist is not toooooo high. Bikinis often shift around on me or cut me in a weird way. Boyshorts roll up, no matter what. Can't speak to thongs. So I agree with her -- to some extent it must depend on body type.

I am going to try these. So many rave reviews. I am also amazed at the different preferences in underwear fit. I only wear bikini or maybe hipster undies but love high rise jeans. I like the high cut leg. Same reason as Janet.

Re: cotton undies: One of my all-time favorites, the Vanity Fair Illumination bikini, comes in a 92% cotton version — just enough spandex to hold it’s shape pretty well. I think I still have a couple of pairs of the original nylon version that are 10 years old at the ranch, and they are still wearable (the elastic is great, but the fabric pills after many many wears).

Am I alone in wanting my underwear to be flattering all on its own? When I try some pairs and they look unflattering, even if they *fit* properly, I won’t wear them. High waists in underwear are just as unflattering on me as high waists in regular clothing!

i loved bikinis and hipster until my hips got post-menopausal. now i need high rise to get them to stay on with the larger difference between waist and hip circumference.

all the love for these pants tho are making me reconsider...

Hipsters are my favourite undie.....more coverage than a bikini but not a full on panty. I like Calvin Klein Invisible Hipsters for the softness and no-show but lately I'm finding they slide around on my bum depending on what I'm wearing. Will have to check these out!

This very thread prompted me to drive to Nordstroms to investigate the underwear. I spoke to the sales assistant. She said that one size really does fit all. There a regular size and plus size. She said I would wear the regular size. She said these were Nrodstrom's best selling underwear. I'm using Jaileen's information and buying them today from Macys.
