Based on the hint of fall weather in the air and the prevalence of gorgeous red lips on the runways, I decided to take the plunge and buy a red (as in RED red) lipstick to wear occasionally. It was a Goldilocks moment at the Laura Mercier counter (not too orange but not too blue; not too matte but not glossy) before I settled on Truly Red and I have to say I'm loving it!
For the blonde/fair in YLF, allow me to recommend MAC's Russian Red. I love it but it was a bit too blue for my skin tone.
Angie--you sport a gorgeous red lipstick from time to time--which one do you wear?

Also, for the compulsive make-up lovers, I recommend using a nude colored pencil that you can use to sort of line the outside of your lips (before and after applying red lipstick) just to keep the lines clean and crips. I use this one:
