The other sandals are here (four more pairs!)

I recently ordered eight pairs of sandals. I evaluated the first four here:

Here are the other four pairs:

Birkenstock Arizona in grey suede
Birkenstock Florida in silver
Sofft Mirabelle in metallic
Teva Cabrillo crossover in grey leather

The Birkenstocks feel wonderful. I love the grey suede. I'm not sure about the other one. First, it's not real leather, and it's not my preferred style, Arizona. They both feel good to wear, though. Also, I have an old navy pair (photo 5) that I recently sprayed with suede spray and they aren't faded anymore. I think they are wearable now. Anyway, do you prefer the grey or the silver?

The Sofft Mirabelle are very cute. After seeing the Naot with a white sole, I decided I don't like a white sole, regardless of dirt. They remind me of marshmallows.

The Tevas are grey leather. I think overall they are the right length, but the back strap is too short, forcing my foot forward. You can see how the strap needs to be set in order to feel right. Do you think it's ok like that?

Between the two Birks, I like the silver ones way way better.
The Soffits are really nice. I like the soft silver of them and the criss cross straps. But if you don't like the sole, then get the Birks!
The Tevas are very gear-like.

The silver Birks are awesome. I say the black pair is too much of a duplicate of the navy pair. My worry with the Teva's is you won't have a good hold if you can't Velcro them correctly. Also, the exposed Velcro will probably attract a lot of lint etc. If that would bother you.

Zoiechic, I knew this group would prefer the silver Birkies!

Smittie, i'm planning to get more than one pair of sandals. I was thinking the grey Birkies and the Vionic sandals from the other group. But maybe not. Also, I thought the Tevas might look nicer than the nylon ones I already have. I guess not. So they still look like gear, AND can't go in the water. That settles that; they're out!

AviaMaria, those are very good points about the Tevas, and I already have a nylon pair for the beach, lake, etc.

I like the silver Birks best after the silver Sofft sandals (although I realize you don't like the white sole). The Teva's are too gear like and the grey birks look an awful lot like the birks you already own.

I wasn't sure how many pairs you were getting. Do you need any sandals that are dressier than Birks? I think I prefer the silver birks over the vionics. The vionics and birks are quite similar in feel, so I would pick one pair from that set, and then maybe the naots with the dark sole? Or what about the soffits with a dark sole? Does such an item exist?
You know what I found while at the mall? Some sort of plastic Birkenstock. They were insanely lightweight and the black ones didn't immediately look like plastic, the way crocs do. I think this would be a great option if you're around water (though you'd lose them if you actually went in the water, as they are slip ons).

My favorites from this group and the silver Birks and the Soffts. I actually like the white soles, they look fresh and summery to me.

Please rethink the Sofft sandals, JAileen. The white sole is gorgeous and bookends your light grey hair. And btw, marshmallows are yummy.

Sara, thanks for your thoughts. This group definitely likes silver! I don't think the Soffts come with a dark sole, so they are out, as are the Tevas.

Smittie, you think the silver Birkies are nicer looking than the Vionics? I was leaning toward the Vionics thinking they looked better then the Birkies. I think your idea is good - the silver Birkies, the Naots with the dark sole, and maybe the grey Birkies. The blue ones are actually over 20 years old, and the "refresh" may not be long lasting.

Thank you! They are the same size I've been wearing for years. I need this size due to the placement of toe bar on the footbed and my extremely long toes. As they get broken in they'll look less weird. Here's a picture of my blue ones.

Smittie, yes. When I saw the Naot on my foot, I thought it looked kind of blah. Is that what you thought, too? It might look better when my foot isn't so pasty. I still like the grey Birkenstock, though, and I wear a lot of grey and blue.

Wow - I actually really like the Soffits and don't get a marshmallow vibe there at all. And I will always vote for all Birkenstocks all of the time Can't wait to pull out my mini collection and plan for this summer's addition . Truth be told , I prefer matte leather or suede to Metallics in Birks for the simple reason that they seem truer to the original aesthetic . This is some new opinion I've developed so who knows how valid it is - but getting into metallics and florals starts skewing , well, a different market/ aesthetic / vibe than I personally want to be a part of . Why am I talking about myself ?

It's true the Soffts' sole is not as fluffy as the Naots'. I'm probably a little prejudiced against them because they're not silver, they're more platinum, a cross between gold and silver. I pretty much keep to silver and grey because they work better with my hair which while grey, is quite light and silvery. They are cute shoes, though. Still, marshmallow.

So right now I'm leaning toward the grey Birkie, the Vionic, and a third, either the silver Birkie or the Naot snake pattern. The Naot kind of disappeared on my pale foot. It wasn't that attractive. I need to think on this.
