I had an LL Bean chamois shirt in high school (90s) that I loved. I think it was olive green or maybe dark sage but oddly I can’t remember. It was a men’s shirt, not quite as thick as some shirt jackets but thicker than a flannel.
The other shirt jackets I saw a lot in the 80s/90s were buffalo plaid with polyfill lining. I think we had some vaguely negative name for those, something a bit classist about farmers maybe? But I can’t remember it and it’s driving me nuts. Sorta like how some people call those tan leather farm/work boots shit kickers. (Though my family called them waffle stompers which I still think is a hilarious name. Based on the footprints they made.)
