After years of “I’ll make do because I don’t have time to alter it right now” items cluttering my closet, I’ve finally found a tailor whose work meets my exacting standards—but she is definitely NOT inexpensive. When I was younger, I had my mother and grandmother to rely on, but once they were gone, I had to make time to do my own alterations which never seemed to happen. The few times I resorted to a local tailor, I wasn’t thrilled with the results.
Finding my current tailor has reminded me of the sheer pleasure of wearing perfectly fitted jackets, skirts, tops, pants, loungewear, and coats. If Fashion Santa would bring me a certificate for a lifetime of free alterations with my current genius tailor, I’d never ask for anything more.
