What a difference! It must be an absolute pleasure to walk in there. I'd like to hang out in there, myself, and admire your shoes

WOW!Too late to ask for one of these for Christmas

Those shots seriously looks like they could come from a boutique, with the impressive organization and the wood shelving. And the pic with all the boots is just drool-worthy.

No WAY! I want this. Actually the shoes are my favorite part - I have a good closet but am so bad at upkeep.

So fab Janet - I'd love to hang out in there too

Drooling over the shoes and boots so beautifully organized...

You are so great to have all your things organized so well. Besides, you have many clothes and shoes.

Simply beautiful!

Wow, gorgeous, and it sounds like you found a great contractor, Jan! DH and I have been mulling our closet circumstances now for some time. (I have seriously built my wardrobe over the past year, I think I am emerging from post-retirement-dullville lol!).

Our closet is a walk-in style but after you walk in, there is this odd elevated section in the back. You can't really store much in the closet! A couple of years ago, we did hire a closet fitter, and they put some narrow shelving in and changed the way our closet rods ran -- adding a low and a high rod on one wall.

Unfortunately, the new design just hasn't worked for us. I am not a very "custom" type of woman, and I haven't looked around for drawers to fit in the shelving area. We have tried several different brands of bins, and none of those worked.

Now we are looking at the PAX line at IKEA (or planning to). Have you seen this? (Anyone use it?) It's wardrobe modules of furniture. Since our house is tiny by today's standards, I want to go vertical with as much as I can. I've got one wall that doesn't have windows or heating registers, and I'd like to put a run of PAX in there, maybe with a mirror sliding-door closure. There seem to be a lot of options for the interior of PAX, slide-out bins, drawers, shelves, rods, and so on.

Congratulations on the new closet, Jan! I envy you the ease with which you're able now to choose your outfits!

Linda, you're smart to think vertically about your storage space! As you can see, our steeply sloped ceiling and the exposed beam make our space a little tricky, but I'm very happy with the solution. Working with the abundant vertical space was key. I've not seen the Pax units, but it sounds like it could be a good, flexible, inexpensive way to fix your closet. Good luck figuring out your solutions!

Wow. Now shopping your closet is extra fun.

Angie, it is! I'm seeing my wardrobe in a whole new light, literally (changed out the light fixture too). Having things so organized and well-displayed is motivating me to shop my closet rather than the stores! I can see what I have so much better.

It is absolutely gorgeous.

This is such a wonderful make over. I live in a studio apartment with no closet storage so I'm loving this. Heavy envy going on right now. But, I've got to be strong ( wipes away tear) lol

So lovely! Congrats and thanks for sharing.
