The Most Important Thanksgiving Question

The most important question about Thanksgiving is not where you are going, who you will be with or even what you are eating-
it's WHAT WILL YOU WEAR???

I got an email yesterday (from NY & Co) with a picture of an argyle cardi, and I knew that was my inspiration. I liked the way that the cardi was buttoned only at the bottom, and the sleeves were pulled up with the shirt cuffs sticking out. I had seen cashmere argyle cardi's on sale at Kohl's, and they were marked down again. With a 15% off coupon, and $10 in Kohl's cash- it was too much to resist. Here's the cardi in charcoal:

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Portugal, so I cannot answer to this question..

If I were going to be at my house, I'd definitely be in jeans and a sweater. We're pretty casual around here. We'll be at my husband's aunt's house, which will require dressing up a bit more. I'm thinking I"ll wear a dress with boots and a cardi or jacket. No waistband to worry about...tights are very stretchy!

I have already given my outfit a test run. We're going to visit my family and we tend to be on the casual side, where jeans (preferably comfy stretchy ones) are perfectly acceptable. I am going to wear:

- either skinny jeans OR ponte knit pants (since they are incredibly stretchy!)
- Long light-gray cardigan from AT Outlet - haven't shared with YLF yet, but it's becoming one of my favorites
- purple silk blouse from AT
- SW metallic spectators

I never would have have thought about a question like this until discovering this forum. And truth is, I haven't decided yet. Thankgiving is at my house this year and I'll be doing the majority of the cooking. So I'll probably wear jeans and a comfy top that I can throw either a cardigan or blazer over for dinner. If I manage to put something spectacular together, I'll post a pic!

oh my, that is next week isn't it.
hmm, need to find something stylish, practical, not overly dressy, and roomy! We're going to a friends house and I'm in charge of the pies, so all my baking will be done the day before, but nobody will be overly dressed up, so I don't want to look out of place. Probably a MOTG formula.

We will dress up for TG. Absolutely.

We never host TG because we are not American! We have TG at an American friend’s house with a big group of people. Everyone there is dressy which I rather like. I’ll be wearing a very bright tomato red sheath over a black button-down, with black opaques, black booties, pinstripe blazer and LOTS of pearls.

I am having Thanksgiving dinner with my boyfriend's family for the first time this year so I have to dress up a little more than usual. I honestly haven't given it too much thought yet, but I'm thinking about wearing my houndstooth skirt with a nice top or this great graphic tunic I picked up at TJ Maxx with my gift card! I'm not really stressing about it yet... probably because I'm not looking forward to it too much.

I'd much rather be with my family for Thanksgiving, but I can't make it home to Cali because of work. Sigh.

I'll probably wear a grape colored satin buttondown shirt, chocolate brown pants, and a chocolate boyfriend cardi if it is cold with Me Too bronze flats and an art glass pendant on strings of tiny Zulu grass beads. The shirt and pants are washable so I can help with cooking and clean up without worry if I remove the cardigan, especially wearing a favorite apron.

We visit the in-laws in the afternoon and my family in the evening, so Thanksgiving is always long & busy (and I pitch in to help with cooking, cleaning, etc.). We're a casual bunch, and I'd typically wear jeans and a tee/sweater to family gatherings.

However, Hubby has really been digging my new look. I have ditched the baggy tees in exchange for fitted clothing that shows a bit of skin. Since then, he's been bringing me flowers twice a week! LOL

So, in light of that, I am going to wear the dress/boots combo that I thought was a bit tarty, but he loved. However, since we're going to be around family, I'm going to add a cropped black cardi to it (just to cover a little more skin).
