I found a new purse. I bought one at NAS, then wasn't sure about it and posted my reservations about it, along with other sale hand-wringing, here: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....khaki-coat
After all the help and therapy you all offered, I thought I'd share the outcome with you. I bought the purse in photos 1-5:
1-2: Shown by itself
3-4: with my new Calvin Klein trench coat and new Donald Pliner booties, and skinny jeans
5: with denim shorts and sandals
The bag is the perfect taupe color for me, and the style is kind of a saddle-bag by Aunts & Uncles, from a local boutique. Not pictured is a strap extension, which converts it to a cross-body. This style is called Marzipan Pig (how funny is that?!), and is in the Grandma's Luxury Club collection, as was the one I ordered that was called Mrs. Teacake, which some of you saw before on my other thread. The supplier mistakenly sent Marzipan Pig, and I liked it. The store also got the supplier to send Mrs. Teacake, and I found it was a little smaller than what I was looking for. I think this one was meant to be mine.
Other contenders from NAS, which went back:
6-8: Parker hobo by Kooba, in taupe (6-7) and black (8). I really, really liked this bag. It was a little larger than I wanted, although I think I could have lived with the size, because it was so soft that it collapsed nicely and didn't feel overwhelming. But the super-soft buttery leather--and the price-- made me worry about carrying it every day. I found myself thinking about what other bag I could carry to work, because I might not want to have it hanging on the hook against a wall, where we have to stash our things at work. And that kind of defeats the purpose of having a go-with-everything bag. It wasn't a 10 out of 10, so I took it back.
9: Marilyn Botolato by Liebeskind. Such a cool satchel and I loved the taupe color with black stitching. But it felt too boxy to me, and I also thought I'd prefer a more grayish taupe.
10: Cupid satchel by Rebecca Minkoff. Pretty, but ultimately not me. Too much shiny hardware, a little more structured than I wanted, and the taupe was too pink.
11: Imperia satchel. This bag was nicer IRL than I expected. It helped me realize that I didn't want this traditional satchel shape after all, though. The taupe color was a little off for my wardrobe as well.
I'm carrying my new bag and enjoying it. The saleswoman said there is no need to treat the leather. If it gets wet, she said to wipe it with a damp cloth to even out the moisture and let it dry. She said the leather will age gracefully. It's nice to have a little different style for a change of pace from my previous Hobo satchel style. I have other bags I can use if I want to dress up a little more.
Hope this gives you some insight, if you were wondering about any of these bags, and thanks again for your help on my previous threads.
Thanks for looking, too!
