I got SO many fabulous suggestions in my earlier posting, and decided to pick a bunch to try, all in a silhouette of sweater and pants. I am not showing a column of black because that seems the most obvious styling to me. I did lighten up some of the photos because the colors are not always easy to see.
1. Brown (what Inge called “Dark Cinnamon”) mockneck pullover, black straight leg jeans, brown booties
2. Grey BR hoodie, black straight leg jeans, black sneakers. I thought the puffy collar on the vest might be too bulky with the sweater hood, but the vest collar folds down nicely so works fine.
3. White sweater with a small silver fleck, black/white plaid pants, black loafers
4. Cream/Oatmeal sweater same pants/shoes .. I didn’t think of this as a winter sweater because it’s cotton but with a merino long sleeve tee underneath it works.
5. Rust/Cinnamon sweater same pants/shoes
6. Burgundy sweater (darker than the photo), dark wash skinny jeans., black lug sole bootie
7. Navy tneck, same pants/shoes
8. Black tneck, burgundy corduroy pants …
I could keep going!
I prefer this vest with grey, burgundy, light tan or black top, and prefer the light tan to white. Bottoms in black and denim are fine and I also like it with the burgundy corduroys. Not so much love for the brown/cinnamon colors, nor the dark blue sweater.
Would love to hear what you think!
