the jacket edition - YouLookFab Forum

I don't normally have time to photograph my clothes but today master 10 let me put all my jackets on and took a photo of each one for me. I just want to know which jackets look good and which ones I should throw.

1. basic outfit of slim pants, and black singlet

2. blue jacket...thrifted.

3. red jacket...thrifted ...I have serious doubts about this and think I should throw it.

4. purple jacket from stax

5. banana republic flannel grey jacket. I love this one so please don't let it be a throw...the insides of the sleeves are stained with coffee though

6. banana republic hacking jacket

7. black and white striped cropped jacket...haven't worn much because I wasn't sure about the fit.

8. tweed jacket

9- 10yellow jacket on black top and yellow jacket on striped top. This yellow jacket is quite new but now it is a bit big and I"m not sure about the colour on me.

11-12 trench on black top

12. forever21 black jacket

13. black jacket ...this is funnily enough a jacket from a uniform but I love the style so much

14. black coat - Helen Cherry - a New Zealand designer...I can't do it up but it feels comfortable around the shoulders and arms

15. pleather jacket.

After taking the photos I am thinking I should throw the red jacket and the stax purple jacket seems off around the shoulders. Honest feedback appreciated. Thanks.

I'm averse to 3 and 4 because of the severe shoulders.

I agree that 3 & 4 should go. It's a little hard to assess fit in some of these with your arm bent (and I'm on my phone so the pics are small), but i think the others look good. Not sure about he yellow one -- a little roomy?

I love you in the cobalt jacket (#2). I agree with Mochi and Janet that #3 and #4 should probably be passed on or tossed. The shoulders are too severe.

I like the red color on you but can't tell about the fit.
I would vote for #4 to find a new home as the shoulders don't appear to fit.
I am having trouble deciding about the yellow. Maybe I just need to see it with lighter pants and shoes.

5, too, if you can't get the stains out
9/10 should go if you can't get it altered to fit and if the color's not working for you

Oh, I missed the stain part. Can the cleaners help with that? If not, I'd keep an eye out for a replacement since that is a favorite.

if you had the sleeves of the BR flannel jacket tailored to fit would it get rid of the stained part?

From what I can see in these pics, I'd pass on #3, 4, 5.

Not sure about #7 and 9 because it's hard to assess fit with the way you're posing. Too roomy in the sleeves perhaps.

Do your trencoats close in front?

#8 does not look good in this picture, but I know it's fab because of a previous WIW. My best of the lot.

#6 is my next favourite.

Thanks everyone. I think next time I pose I need to keep my arms by my side to show the right fit.

3 and 4 are in the thrift shop pile now. I think 7 and 9 may be too roomy. I'm reluctant to throw them because they are new but I've hardly worn them

Angie the black trench can't do up but the cream trench is the opposite. It fitted me beautifully at the beginning of the year but now after losing 13 kgs it is too big for me.. do you think I should toss it ? I am hoping that the black one will fit me when I'm at my goal weight.

Liz you are right. I shouldn't wear stained sleeves. I have had it dry cleaned but the stain around edge of the sleeves is not shifting.

Good idea BrieN. I'm going to check at the local tailors how much it would cost to replace the sleeves...otherwise I'll look for a replacement jacket. The flannel on the outside is in such good condition..sigh.

I really like #6 and #7. They look fab on you.

The ones that could be passed on is #3, #4 and #5 (looks a bit roomy).
#9-10 looks too roomy in the sleeves. Could a tailor help with alterations? I love the bright colour for you, though. They make you look fresh and vibrant.

Maybe you should be on the lookout for a tomato red trench?
