I have a couple of pairs. The right style and material fits my feet better than some other styles of flats, and also these come in a range of stable low-ish heel heights, so I can use a 1-1.5 " heel that is very walkable.
But, I did find one issue in wearing with pants. They're best with cropped versions that stay above the shoe. But, I don't wear any such to work. Next ok is tapered pants that scrunch onto the top of your foot. That is a kind of goal for me, though I need just the right fit, not to skinny-tapered. My other pants that are straight trouser style can work, but the hems may catch on the vamp and look a mess, sometimes up and sometimes down..
I didn't realize or expect this and so I've had to stop and think before investing more in this style. With ballet flats, the vamp was low enough the pants don't catch, and with boots the pants flow over. Funny how all these things make a difference.
Of course then there are skirts. I had hoped these would be a skirt look for me but I'm struggling with a poison eye for the higher vamp loafer look with skirts unless worn with almost matching tights. The young models get away with it, but it looks frumpy on me to my eye.
