My champagne taste reared its ugly head again today at Macy's. I could not resist trying on this amazing Soia and Kyo coat. Dare I say it looked better on me than on the model.

However, I do not have $370, even after returning those blasted boots (which I ended up replacing with these--fingers crossed that I actually receive the right product this time).

I can't decide if I should wait patiently for a sale, or just let it go and continue looking elsewhere. I do have a 20% off coupon, but it's still too much. I don't know if a sale would actually help...or if it will even go on sale. It would have to be at least half off for me to seriously consider it.

My original plan was to get this coat on ebay for about half the price. But compared to the S&K, it just seems so classic and...not me. I could spunk it up with fun accessories, but I have wanted a wool coat with an interesting collar for what seems like an eternity now and I know I'm committed to whatever coat I get this year for at least five years.

The problem more than anything is length. There are plenty of nice coats out there with interesting details, but they're all so short. Every single coat I saw at Nordies today was short. It's November already! Knee length coats should be in full swing.

Anyway, temperatures are dropping and I really need to sort this out. I guess I could wear my slightly too small BR coat for one more season if I really have to, but pretty soon my clothing budget is going to be nearly non-existent again, so I was hoping to get it out of the way now. I guess my timing is just bad for a variety of reasons.
