So I think I need a pair of cargo pants for my European trip. I'd like them to be not cotton, for weight and wrinkling and washing reasons. Also, my trip capsule is black and cream so they need to be black (not as easy as you might think, a lot of cargos are in navy and tan). So far I have found two options:

This pair from Eddie Bauer are maybe too gear-like? I like the idea of being able to roll them up. Current size is back ordered until too late, but size -1 is available next week., might be ok.

Chicos option, available in tall which I would need, but I'm not sure about the cord at the hem. Too casual?

What I'm really hoping for is something that will work for traveling but also look pulled together enough that I am ok wearing in museums, decent restaurants, etc.

I think the Chicos ones look more pulled together and dressy. While the EB ones don't look like gear IMHO, there may not agree, and they are definitely more casual than the Chicos ones.

Another vote for the Chico's version, they look much sleeker. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

I do think from these 2 the Chico's version is better, but have you checked Travelsmith? This is their specialty and they seem to have a wide variety of choices for non-wrinkling black pants for travel.

Definitely the Chico's pair. I think the EB's read too much like gear to me.

I also prefer the Chico's: sleeker and dressier.

Just a thought: how do you feel about the slouchy track pants look Angie blogged about today. I really like the idea of the Leith pants or something similar to take with you on vacation. Easy to dress up and down, and they won't wrinkle.
