Oh, Angie, what a shame. I was looking at it in the catalogue today and wondering. It's a beautiful cut and shape.
I think it it quite similar (but shorter) to mine from the Gap. But mine is probably a different fabric mix. Even so...I'll say this: I wore it with my silk shirt underneath for a REASON not just to do with the look of it!
After your comments, I took off the silk underlayer and went with a cami. I could *just barely* manage it for a few hours, and I do NOT have exceptionally fussy skin. So I can only imagine how it would bother someone with allergies or sensitivities. Mine's a wool/cotton/acrylic blend ( I think....would need to get the details from our bedroom and hubby's gone to sleep after an early morning.)
I guess that just goes to show us all that sometimes what looks great in theory isn't really wearable in real life!
However....I am thinking that a thin layering T with a lower neckline could easily be popped under one of these for the same look. You'd SEEM to have bare skin underneath but really you'd be protected? Just roll the T's sleeves to slightly above where you'd plan to "scrunch" the sweater's sleeves to, and make sure the neckline was bare enough?
