Is the secret in the angle she gave the front of the legs? Or just that she's gorgeous? I'm not into denim on denim, but I love this look.

There's something cheeky about the angled legs. I'm not loving the pocket bottoms hanging out but see it a lot.

OK, so first off I have to say that I have such a poisoned eye for those dangling pocket bottoms. HATE it.

That said, I do like that she used jeans that are wide in the thigh. I think that is the key. It's why I can never make shorts out of my old jeans - my new BF jeans aside, all of my jeans are fitted in the thighs, which I like for pants but I prefer my shorts to be loose in the thigh.

I also have a deep, irrational hatred of the pockets hanging out look. I don't care for the angled look either. I like a regular ol' pair of baggy cut-offs. I guess I'm just a party pooper :(.

I have found the workaround on the tight leg issue. Men's jeans as inspired by Aida. I'm knee deep in a project involving making shorts out of my fiancée's old jeans. I will report back.

Yes, I hate the exposed pocket too... .

I agree that I am not fond of the pockets hanging out. I think the shorts would have been fine without cutting the extra piece off the front to make the pockets show...

I've never purposely tried to create a dangling pocket effect when chopping off jeans to make shorts; it was just a potential hazard to be avoided if possible.

I don't like seeing the pocket but I think it helps the look for the front to be that short. (Would especially help on someone without her long legs.) I've been thinking of thrifting a pair of jeans to try this with, and shortening the pockets while I'm at it.

I LOVE dangling pockets, but it has never worked on me. Actual men's jeans have too long a rise for me; it looks silly. I've considered cutting pockets off a second pair to sew cheat, but that feels even siller. :T
