I love how the most iconic fashion house of all - Chanel - manages to evolve into a modern direction; yet stays true to to its core. Amidst leggings worn as pants, puffers, sneakers, track suits, sports attire, bare midriffs, sci-fi silver, leather, rainbow colour, oversized slouch, distressed fabrics and sneakers - you'll still see tweed, tailoring, suits, pearls, quilting, black & white, and ladylike style.

Wow - that is a seriously fun show! I laughed out loud at some of the metallic coats. It made me think of tinfoil, over in aisle 5....

Many of those looks are extremely wearable, despite some of the elements you point out above. I loved that there was variety in the coat silhouettes. And those rich berry shades are delicious! (Literally!)

Well, that would be a very upscale grocery store sans huge metal carts, crying toddlers, and harried moms--but point taken, Angie. The joy of clothes is in the wearing, not just the acquisition. And Chanel is right to remind us of that.

That's the way to co-opt casualization and give it some real flair! I love the color and find the structured midriffs interesting. This is far better than Sponge Bob flannel jammie pants at WalMart!

Fun! I love how it's all made wearable with fun tennis shoes and boots instead of 5" stilettos. Reminds me of my commute to work in the 80s in suits and tennis shoes.

It is creative, I'll give them that. But it is too chaotic for me. I suspect they are trying to tap into the younger, affluent, Chinese market.

That's very smart, if you ask me, to show their clothing can work on the street. Except for the last couple of coats with Big Bird shoulders in pink-multi...Mmm, yeah. No. Runway territory only, 100%.

I mean, someone will go ghetto on you when you smack them with your shoulder feathers in the paper towel aisle.

Too fun! A riot of yummy colours. I wish my grocery store was that gorgeously colour coordinated or, for that matter, that I could step out of my leggings, sweatshirt dress and Uggs to jump into one of those fun outfits to do the weekly shop
