Ms KatieKat, those wrap dresses are stunning on you! Just pop a cami underneath when you need to be more modestly dressed. I like the Cslvin Klein best of these two, but both look great.

This is you looking not-great in wraps? What?!!

I think tied where they are they look great.

[And if you're not in a relationship but want to be, I say buy the B&W in the size modeled and it won't take long.]

Do you wear the demi-camisoles from places like Second Base or longer ones? If longer, I'd think about sucking it up and getting a/some demis -- no bulk around the middle that way.

I groused about cost, but they have discounts for 1st time buyers and mine have held up really well to incessant wear and wash (line dry).

Thanks ladies!

I think these wrap dresses fit most of Goldenpig's points, except that these are actual wrap dresses instead of faux wraps. I lucked out in finding these with ties that are right under the bust! The prints are also very flattering. Sadly, I did not go home purchasing any of them because I wanted to ask your opinions first! I guess I'll be coming back for them tomorrow

The Maggy London was a lovely surprise. Though it had thinner fabric than the Calvin Klein, it had beautiful draping around the tummy!

I will definitely be wearing a slip under these dresses because I just can't be without!

@Vix: what is Second Base? I've never heard of it! Do tell me more! But yes, in the past the wrap dresses I tried on did not suit my body type. Most of them have lower waist ties and others have too flared out of a skirt. Most also have cap sleeves, so I think wearing 3/4 length sleeves made a huge difference!

Thanks ladies!!!

Second Base demi- and regular camisoles

IIRC their Facebook page has info about the 1st time buyers' discount but they also have an email sign up. Good CS so you could call/email if interested.

I think you are totally right. Probably it was the sleeves and flared skirts of the earlier ones that just didn't work. Amazing what a difference small details like that can make. These are going to be fabulous dresses for you -- excellent for travel, too.

I think those dresses work beautifully on you, MsKatieKat! They emphasize your slim waist and look great.

I wore a faux wrap dress today that was Maggy London. I'm not sure of my shape, but my waist is anything but small. I find that wrap or faux wrap styles with fuller skirts work better on me, as they help balance my shape. And I wear a bra with a built in camisole top, like this one: http://www.soma.com/store/brow.....1&prd= I find it works better than a regular camisole that thickens my middle even more and can ride up. Anyway, this was the dress I wore today:

@Vix: thank you! I'm going to check out their page now and let you know!

@Suz: yes, it's amazing how little details like the length of one's sleeves and the flare of the skirt makes such a difference! And yes, they are great for travel! Part of why I've been contemplating on wearing wraps for a while is because they are so easy to care for. Many are machine washable and don't wrinkle!

@Echo: thank you! Isn't the Maggy London brand just awesome? I'd wear more of their dresses if only they had Petites sold in Canada!

Regarding the dress: this works very well on you! You actually do have a longer torso than I do, and I definitely see a waist there! Love the fuller skirt and tall boots combination!

I struggled with this when pregnant and finally settled for faux wrap myself... only dress I am likely to manage nursing in other than a shirtdress but I have yet to see one apple-friendly.

I want to add one point to GP's list... and I was hoping she would chime in because I remember her DVF heartbreak... and that is a busy enough print to provide some degree of camouflage around the cinch. It makes one look less like the package tied with string, as Vix so perfectly put it, although it seems counterintuitive. And both your dresses under consideration now do this!

MsKatieKat, you look gorgeous in your wrap dresses! They definitely work on you! Your figure is divine!

Oh yes, Mani, you are right about prints being good for camouflage. I almost always buy dresses that have prints--pattern is such a given in my style that I forgot to mention that!

MsKatieKat, those look fantastic on you! No question you can wear those dresses.

Just had to revisit and tell you how great you look!

Wow, KatieKat! I think you definitely can wear wrap dresses. I really like the Maggie London one, even at the small size. Interesting point how you mention you look more IT -- I agree, I don't see much apple going on in those pics.
