The Dress Diaries Part Four

This post is rather long, so feel free to skip to the photos part if you don't want to read everything. However, in this post I actually refer to several comments from the YLF forum that suggested I try summer dresses instead of oversized polos and ill-fitting shirts. So I took those suggestions to heart. I sarcastically "blame" the YLF forum - when in actuality I'm thanking you for challenging me to find the best look for my body type.

And yes, it gave me an excuse to shop more!!

I like the Merona and Touch 9 dresses the best, both for their fit and colors.

I like the GAP and Merona's best. Living out on the great plains as you do and, wearing a lot more frocks this season, I think the light sleeveless dresses will give you that effortless, polished look on the dog days we both know are ahead.

Fun post!! I definitely prefer the Touch 9 - why is this your least favorite? It is by far the most flattering, by a mile. I also like the Merona dress. The other two really don't do much for your figure but they could be nice with the right accessories. Well done on the length!!!

You have a lovely dress collection now! I like the Touch 9 with the white cami but might try different colored sandals, although the white is fine too.
The black dress might look better sleeveless, but it will make a good basic when adding accessories for different looks. How about brown sandals and weathered brown belt, or red heels, long pearls and turquoise bag or cardi?
I looked back at your earlier dress posts and love the polkadot wrap dress!

The Merona is my fave on you - very flattering and summery. The Gap is a close second.

I like the Touch 9 a lot, but it will need air conditiong! Did you try it with a dark cami and/or black sandals?

The Talbots one is hard to see any detail (isn't black a bear to photograph?) but it will probably be a good classic (is that a loaded word now?) that you can add some bling to it, i.e. lots of gold bangles, maybe a gold belt. . . or lots of silver . . . you NEED silver sandals if you don't have any.

You have raised your own style bar quite a bit lately - these dresses are tremendously flattering and stylish - you go, girl

My goodness, what a clever, fun and witty post!

I am gobsmacked as how anyone could possibly consider giving away the Gap and the Merona dresses when they look so stunning on you!

I have to second MNSara's suggestion of the silver shoes and I'd add that I'd love to see something like a nude (or even lightish tan, because you have lovely tanned legs) type wedge sandal - I keep thinking it would look lovely with a number of your dresses!

I think the white cami definately is a great concept, I think I'd like it more if the neckline was a little lower and maybe simple with no detailing. Do you have any other more simple type cami's to try? With the Talbot's dress I'd love to see some long length necklaces or a cuff or even a low slung belt with it. Ohhh, a silver, low slung belt with silver shoes. Cool! Anyway, you must make sure that you promise to wear these dresses now. I promise that on a really hot day, they will be just as *ahem* breezy and comfy as any pair of shorts and tee could ever be!

I think for summer my fave is the Merona dress. The touch 9 is also very flattering but the thought of having sleeves on at the moment makes me break out into a hot flash It will be a great spring and early fall dress I think.

Now, as for your sitting on the couch with your laptop outfit.... no, no, no... that's why you bought the dresses. I see the Gap dress as the perfect lounge around the house dress. Go ahead, give it a try and see how good you feel.
